I think reverting the range nerfs and normalized heat buildup somewhere between STD and ADV across the board would probably do a lot to keep them sane. AHMG heat needs to be peeled away from the standard units. They don't work the same, they need to heat up differently.
The scouts are easy though.
Don't fire when they are jjumping upward. Hold your fire till they reach the apex of the jump then begin tracking and firing.
When they're on the way down they are helpless.

Hi, I'm Breakin' Stuff, I almost exclusively play heavies, and I do well in them. I also have intimate knowledge on how to easily abuse the mechanics therein and fully expect the "falloff" of heavy usage to last about a month before someone realizes that yes, fatties are still efficient killers.

And I was pushing for something other than what we got, thanks. I knew it was coming, but oh well, easy range/DPS nerf combo.
Exactly what I was trying to avoid. But NOOOOOOO, surrounded by "HMGs are FIIIINE!" Maybe if you nerds would have gotten on board with something other than the idea that heavies should be > All we might have avoided getting b*tchslapped like the ADS pilots.

Assaults might be getting too attractive (mostly I think being able to hp stack proto assaults up to ~1.1k health is the culprit but who knows)
there's no such things as "assaults are too attractive."
Every other class is a support class. Assaults are supposed to be the infantry main line.
Sentinels and commandos are supposed to be heavy fire support (but unfortunately commandos suck)
Scouts still aren't mainline combatants.
Logis?
Assaults are the main line, and they SHOULD BE.

ccp is a **** for acknowledging that its a bug and not fixing it right away. the least they could have done was hotfix that out a week later. instead they let the issue fester CCP is awesome for allowing me to farm the bouncing bum rush.

I'm pretty sure minmatar have either a higher average base melee damahe or are bonused for such.

Death screens show the total damage inflicted, not the "kiling blow"
It's why my sentinels can have 3k damage inflicted why I can bw be shown 3k HP spreadsvs. My calsent.
Eat damage recover eat damage recover.
All that damage is tallied In with the killshot
