1: player from my squad got dropped
2: i got dropped
3: train map
4: lag / up against foreign teams that belong on the EU/Asia server causing extreme lag.
5: not enough players and the ones that arnt in my squad seem to consist of a guy in a viper putting uplinks on towers and 2 redline snipers. i just refuse to carry that.
6: games already half over and i wont make enough isk to cover losses due to the isk formula
7: i already left the match due to one of the above reasons and it put me back in
so lets see why people REALY leave games

Pretty sure lag only affects peer to peer games. Ie, games that are extremely vulnerable to hacking. |

Spawn in and proceed to get gunned down by the combined fire of 8 people because no one on my team pushed the objective, go to respawn And see random blue dots flailing around on the map or camping a roof and proceed to leave because this is complete buIIshit.
Spawn in and see half my team leave the battle or half the enemy team leave the battle, this is buIIshit, not worth it and leave.
This had been my experience for 90% of my games especially running solo, the game feels almost unplayable to me atm.
If it's important to you, you'll find a way. If not you'll find an excuse.

I never leave. If I'm going to get stomped, I'm going to get stomped like a man. If everyone is leaving, I'll be a hero for the blueberries who are left trying. If a match is half way over, I'll put on my A game and attempt to top the leaderboard with whatever time I have left.
I do many things in Dust, but leaving matches is not one of them. |

1.got train
2.got back in that train match
3.finally got new match,its a train map
Really,I want that map to be perma removed,noone like that ******** map.

I always leave if a match has already started.
I seldom leave for anything else.
Today I left a battle because my 14 man team dropped to 8 after the first 30 seconds and the random squad I joined were all going to leave battle too.
Because, that's why.

I don't care about KDR, and have even stayed until the end in 1vs10 games (or worse).
When this happens, I just switch to BPO fit and find myself new goals aside from winning.
Such as:
- Taking as many protobears as I can with me.
- Cloaking up and play peekaboo.
- Go walkabout and view the beautiful vistas of Dust (serious).
- Try new fits (you can easily check the survivability againt Proto-stompers)
- if really alone, try and fail with Dropships |

1: my senile dog sh*ts herself in the house and the smell forces me to clean it or die in agony.
2: match is already 50% or more completed already.

If in squad, yes I will stay. If not in sq, and I already gained enough wp, I'll try to go to the outside points and help from there, in DOM, I'll spawn in the MCC and AFK the rest.

Well, the only reason not to be penalized for dropping would be #2 and lag. I see no reason otherwise not to implement a penalty system for dropping. Personal preference for dropping is hurting the game. Play or don't play. Simple as that. You can always run around in the redline while drinking beer!

i will throw myself at the letter with much intensity and tactics to give my team the chance at victory. all i ask from my team is to try to help me by attacking the letters. but if i notice that everyone is just hanging out in the back of the map not getting their hands dirty then its a waste of my time. i would much rather leave battle to find some team mates who would like to go for the win at any cost.

I honestly can't recall ever experiencing that level of lag, so it's difficult to judge how I would have responded.
I did get disconnected a few times, but that is out of my control.
(In fact, so is lag...so I would not blame you if you leave in those scenarios) |

I leave battle in three different circumstances:
1. I need to get off. House on fire, gotta drop the kids off at the bowl, etc.
2. I join a match that is already in progress by more than 90 seconds. From my own experience, it seems that you get a far, far smaller reward for playing games that have already started. A game that is 90% over will result in like 60% of the rewards. I might as well join a fresh game.
3. If I am getting to the point that DUST is no longer enjoyable. Lagging, PS3 overheating, or just getting put into the same matches over and over. If it hits me, I just walk away. It is better to drop a game rather than continue playing it and walk away angry, at least from experience. This one isn't very common.
That is about it.

I leave for the same exact reasons with the exception of #3 and #4. But #5 is right on point. However, I don't leave because of that. I just try to play smart and go for kills.
So really, I leave because of #1,2,6, and 7.
