Good Day,
I know there is a new system in place. I know it takes longer to get into matches. I know the system is still sorting people into the two main camps above and below. So be it.
New things take time to get used to.
What I'm having trouble with is odd sized teams. 5 on 8. 10 on 11. 13 on 13.
I have not had a 16 - 16 match yet.
Is this going to be part of the new system? Or once folks get sorted into the the various camps 16 v 16 will be the norm?
-
It's also annoyingly funny that folks don't know how to read the various screens to know that their team only has 8 players or 10 players on it.
Thanks for reading this. |

Well, I just got added to a match late. When I showed up, I was the 3rd player on my team and the other team had 12 players.
The other team also contained one of the super squads.
So joining does seem to be happening, but in a less than optimum way. I did get one kill and an assist and destroyed some equipment, during my time in the match. I got 260,000 ISK, 0 SP and 5 Enhanced Shield Regulators for the 10 minutes of game time and 4 minutes of wait time.
Seriously, I spent more time waiting to get into this match than I did alive in it.

The threats from the system about me rejoining the match are sporadic. I got the voice over one before my body had decomposed and could still conceivably be revived. And then didn't get the first one for over 30 seconds of sitting on the following death screen, after my next death.
The little flashing sign that says something like "please confirm your spawn position." The second threat is the female voice.
Threat is not the right term, pressure, push to get back into battle.

Anyhow, please take this as constructive criticism, not just bitching. I want the matchmaking system to work well.
I hope it's taken as such.

I thought I was clear, but to make sure.
In the match info provided, I was on the losing team and had only 1 player on my side (at the end, 2 players came and went) against 11-12 other players and they had a proto squad.
To the Modern Creature, this is what happens when you get stomped, and stick it out until the end. You get lots of money and usually some good salvage. I only lost 6-7 suits this time and only 1 or 2 of them were "expensive." In this instance I did make money, but didn't get any SP and lost 15 minutes or so of game time.
I would prefer playing against folks my skill level.
I'm hoping this new system will gather enough data on each of us over the next week or so to put us against comparable skill level opponents.

In the previous matchmaking system, I would be in one or two or three of these stomps every day, on both sides. The catch was the team size would be the much closer to 16 v 16. In this case it was wildly out of balance 3 v 11.
This out of balance match would be far less common, once every three or four weeks and usually late at night.
