So REs have been a problem for some time and they still are. Its gotten to the point where they suck all the fun out of the game, and franly im dumbfounded that they havent been fixed yet. Theres alot of solutions to this, the simplest being to remove them and leave only the packed variants, but thats not going to happen, plus the packed variants are broken.
So then, how to make them not mind numbingly broken but still useful?
-No more frizbeeing. Im OK with them being hurled across a room, im not OK with them being detonated before they hit the ground. Give them a 5 second activation timer and, during that 5 seconds, they show up on all dropsuit passive scans.
-No more Spawncamping. Seriously. Theres no reason for it other than letting some loser stroke it over a few ill earned kills. If youre in range to toss an RE at the spawn point, youre in range to destroy it and not be a douchebag. This is low, even for the dirtbags, douchebags and nolifes that populate this game. No offense. Only solution i can think of is an outright damage resistance for players that have recently spawned. Im thinking the most fair way would be starting at 100% and dropping by 10% every second. |

How is the fault MINE when i spawn on an RE that doesnt appear on passives and get killed before the screen fades from black?
Your second point basically ammounts to 'bend over and use lube'
I have no issue spotting and avoiding REs, even in some cases when its frizbeed at me. I do have issues spotting them when im spawning and they are armed but havent rendered yet. Even if they had rendered, massive blast radius + human reaction time + spawn disorientation = ........?

let me provide some context for the OP. Dom on gallente lag facility, as always, both teams spam heavies and logis. as always,the enemy team is full of squads that are in turn full of proto, so naturally they held the point the entire game. aside from the heavies and logis there were 3 RE scouts running around. While my whole team was camped on that one shelf above the point with heavies, i was back alittle forcing those scouts away. They managed to RE me twice in total, both times in a BPO suit, both times on an uplink.
IDGAF about the money, i mostly use standard anyways. My point is that unavoidable spawnkills plus bullsh!t 15 second spawns arent enjoyable and make me and others not want to play the game. |

dont stand in a big group circle jerking wp under sustained fire in a corner and expect not to be exploded
i play solo pretty muich exclusively, but im not going to complain if someone is using teamwork against me.
if only there were other breaching weapons... like a mass driver... or grenades... or an OB
getting sniper by a rail tank under an installation sucks, yeah, but thats not at all relevant to REs.
my problem was mainly with RE spawncamping, but i think that if there are 10 people defending an objective, it should take a 10 people to clear them out, not one person running in and tossing pocket OBs all over the place. |

Cores could be toned down a bit but other grenades are fine. MD is in a good place, would be great for breaching if RE jihads didnt completely obsolete it. |
