As to the matter at hand, swarms are basically what rhape dropships, at least a forge gun requires good aim x.x

They're both like helicopters. Python is like an attack chopper like the Cobra or Apache. Incubus is like a modded Huey.

It won't just be dropships in trouble. If there is added incentive to kill vehicles, every merc and his (or her) Neocom will be running AV, vehicles will die regardless of what they are.
Have a feeling AV v V will just turn into organised squads stomping 16 randoms running around with swarm launchers looking for a tank.

Dropships in Dust are like Blackhawks, and ADSes are like Little Birds, so no they are not supposed to work like an Apache Longbow....

Who cares what you or anybody thinks about how dropships are 'supposed' to be used? It's a flying vehicle with a turret on the front, if someone can painstakingly develop the skill to turn that into an effective anti infantry fit, good for them.
Anybody who lets an ADS stick around long enough to cause butthurt is in a squad/ team that REALLY sucks at AV, plain and simple.The entire dropship class is grievously under armoured and suffers from restrictive slot layouts. If one swarmtard can't kill a DS in one clip, boo ******* hoo, you at least made him disengage. If two AVrs working together can't kill a DS in one clip, they suck at AV, and need to just go ahead and deploy in starter fits until they learn to operate the easiest weapons in this game. |

Both av and vehicles has a large amount of annoying bugs.
But i begrudgingly have to agree with spkr on this one, the vehicle bugs hurt more.

I just find it incredible that the dev team finally wised up and addressed HAV survivability w/ changes to reps, armor values, core values, slot layouts AND weapon mods, but they won't even comment on dropship threads! We are being engaged with the same weaponry, to the same effect that HAVs were.
The only dev comment I've seen re: dropships was "DS piolts are going 20/0, no buff needed". What a load of crap. Maybe some jackass is making new alts every week and tearing up the battle academy with a mlt fit python. In all of the matches I've played since uprising, I've seen an ads pilot go over 10 kills twice. And even if this 20/0 is the case, what the hell kind of justification is that? There are guys going +20/0 in EVERY match w/ an assortment of light weapons. |

I think it's more than that. Dropships must have been serious shitkickers before my time in dust.
I sincerely hope the role gets some attention in the future. Now that I've skilled up and put in a bunch of flight time, it's one of my favorite things to do in this game. The flight mechanics are just fun. |

Missiles firing 2, 3, 4 or 5 instead of everything while holding the trigger down, both large and small railguns firing until they overheat, small missiles now have that same glitch when on a Python, tanks getting stuck to walls and crates when you bump into them, etc. All of those lead to a premature demise because you can't fight back.

They can make very sharp turns and often phase through the ground or objects.

That day will be when maps are big enough that infantry can't just hop, skip and myojump (Oow, cool name. I call it!) to the objectives.
I'd love to use dropships for transport and with gunners. Sadly, no one can hit crap with thw turrets and there is no incentive to be a dedicated gunner.
