OK so recently all the rifles got their assault variant (breach, for the assault rifle) available at basic, and thats a great change, especially for new players who can test the waters without dumping buckets of SP and ISK into a weapon they may not even like.
What im wondering is why arent all weapon variants available at basic?
The tac AR, for one. The burst AR technically exists at basic, but only in the LP store - why isnt it available for ISK?
Also Sidearms - the SCP recently got the assault variant at basic, but the tactical variant is still not even on the market.
Why no basic assault SMG?
Why no basic assault FG? assault mass driver? burst HMG?
I dont think it makes much sense to have some variatnts available at basic and not others, and im wondering if theres some reason CCP made it so. I mean theres even militia assault variatnts for the RR, SCR, and CR. |

We used to have most of them. They were pulled a while ago (mostly with Uprising's release, iirc, maybe even some point in open beta - it's been a long time) for one reason or another and never returned. We badly need them back, especially with meta level locks potentially in the works. They'd allow much more varied low meta play, letting low SP/ISK players to explore different playstyles, hopefully becoming more situationally effective and encouraging eventual investment and usage at higher meta levels.
Missing a couple Pro variants, too, while we're at it.

As a cheap bastard who hates spending ISK, I would LOVE to have all the variants at Militia/Standard tier.
I want to test out all the variants but I am literally too cheap test it at the Advanced Tier.
