In my freshman year I was 5'4 then now 5'8 and a half. I hope I keep getting taller :D
Last weekend after my race I ordered 1 large pizza and ate the entire pizza along with a 36 piece of wings = It was the best day every. For 4 days I couldnt stop eating since I burned 2000 calories = Awesome. Now time to get ready for a 5k in April and my 5th Half Marathon on May. Running a Half every month = what a great goal I came up and by the end, it will be worth it.
I cant be the only Distance Runner in the Dust forms lol
I'm a distance runner. But I do track and cross country distance events for my high school

Nice. In Cross country I didn't improve much in my senior year so my best was 18:18 as a sophmore. Then Track season I excelled the most, I dominated in the 800 meters and was the fastest for JV and was in top 15 in our league and I was number 4.
Then in the times of both Varsity and JV in our school out of the 20 I was number 8.
I did the 800 meters a lot, ran the 2 mile sometimes, and subbed for the 4 by 4. :D
Now in college I decided not to join the running team and run alone just training for those Halfs (13.1 miles).
Some of my friends and even my mom said if the races I do are "free" I say "really you think a race is just free?? No you have to pay to run the race and the best part, Free food at the end, a nice Medal, and a T shirt so at the end of the day I can brag about it all day long xD lol.
Many of my friends stopped running after high school so very few us are still going strong.
Now that you are in High school, my best advice to you is enjoy it. Enjoy every single day of running because that last day will come in your senior year. Make friends, set your goals, and do your very best.
I knew I wasn't the fastest but if you motivate and train your mind to take the pain then you'll know how far you can go.
Some people say running is just easy but nope, its not the easiest because in a race there is no time out, half time, or any of that crap that other sports have.
Once the guy goes off its up to you to not only compete against other runners but to compete against that voice in your head that makes you wanna quit.
You have the ability to slow down, walk, and to crawl but to quit. Quitting is not acceptable.
I understand everyone runs for different reasons. I run to be competitive but to also have fun. :)
I do the 16, 32, 4x8 and sometimes the open 8. I love to run as well and some people find that weird. My fastest 16 is 439 my fastest 32 is 1016 which will hopefully be sub 10 my next race. And my 4x8 is 206
