I see them coming. forge blasts though.. not really, that I don't see... and as far as them going around corners it can't be all that bad as it used to be.. I was dodging them fairly easy by backing up just a little behind cover and never get hit.. and i'm a low sp invested crap tanker. You lose many drop ships lately or something?? |

I flew by a friend that I q-synced against in FW while he had a swarm. He was standing right next to one of those pyramid type building by one of the entrances. I fly by at top speed, he shoots at me as I turn the corner. I go around the ENTIRE building back to him, and the swarms then hit me in the back. There is nothing you can do to dodge them. And that's BS. I'm fine with everything else about swarms besides invisibility and no sound, but this no dodging no matter how skilled you are is complete BS.
I'm calling bullshit still man, I have pro swarms.. they don't ever do that for me.. I sure as hell wish they did, would be a lot less tank when i'm around |

ahh, forgive me.. I was thinking of ground targets. I don't have much experience shooting DS with swarms, they rarely grab my attention unless they are engaging pretty hard , I prefer to shoot them with forge gun. I was looking at this convo from a tank engagement perspective.
Most times i'm just a logi with a gun in hand. I trained swarms for when a tank annoys me and FG if a DS keeps deploying people on a roof or circling with a great gunner

as for AV, well its been broken for a long time. personally to get balance we need a couple of thigns. firstly. more shield based AV. when 4 of the 5 AV weapons are armour based you can't truly have balance and the 1 shield based weapon does pretty laughable damage for th eamount of SP needed to hit that damage. secondly, modules should all go back to being active. tankers had to plan their movements and engagements just as us industry did. do you hit all 3 reppers and hardeners and go in for a hard hitting quick skirmish, or did you stagger them for prolonged engagements, now a rep/hardener maddy just sits there hammering infantry with its hardeners while havign a little laugh at the AV bouincing off its hull and then hitting a nitro to get away. perhaps have hardeners act similar to siege modules on dreads in EVE where they restrict your movements while active? that way a tanker has to prepare for hardener to completely shuit down before hitting nitro and running
hell yeh, that would be it right there!!! Siege mode them mofos.. you like having near impenetrable defenses... cool, have fun having that while not being able to flee...
the tears would drown us all quickly though, I don't think the dust tank community can handle that haha
even though dread pilots do it every damn day in Eve.... so I guess if it were to happen, it would just be one of those HTFU and adapt things |

Nahh, it's simply a fly by will still get you hit... Make that x3 and it's a dead dropship which didn't even engage. Add no renders and it's a recipe for disaster. Now tell me that's fair. Because we all know that isn't fair. I don't care about who shot who or AV doing it's job. It's simply unjust. Yep, total denial of playstyle defeats the purpose of a video game. We aren't trying to avoid war as in real life. We are trying to engage and continue to engage for kicks. If you don't like vehicles killing you then get a myo fib and jump, jump, jump away.
wouldn't that be a denial of play style, if the only option I had when a vehicle decided to show up was myofib...
