Right, this stupid jumping thing is in the game and looks like it will stay for the rest of the duration of however long this game lasts for and I am not the only person who detests it.
I genuinely think a really good idea - to make it a little 'fair-er' - would be to stop people being able to fire while doing it.
Wasn't the whole idea to add another layer onto the game so and people could use it to get rid of spawn pads, or plant their own, and provide better mobility over the terrain for perhaps heavies and make the scouts better at.. well scouting.
I really think stopping these morons who take advantage of a broken game mechanic, let's face it - the shooting mechanics in this game aren't fantastic when people are able to move as fast as they do - it does make it very disjointed when every 'fair' one on one fight comes down to who can strafe in circles or left to right whilst maintaining a better hit rate than the other person will win..
If you weren't able to fire, you could use it for manoeuvring as was (hopefully) it's intention, and I guess escaping, although it's frustrating as hell to get the drop on someone only to have them bound 30 feet into the air, turn around midway and unload on you while you have little to no way of retaliating due to the aim assist weirdness and couple that with the rotation speed of the suit you are in. And that, in my opinion, would make it less of a douche-y, cheap, scummy, cheating mechanic of try-hards.
tl;dnr: stop people being able to fire while jumping, less rage will occur.

Nope. Its just in time for Easter anyways. All I need to be able to do is add bunny ears to my suit. Now EVE pilots can call us "Dust Bunnies" in a more accurate sense.

You do know that this just makes you weaker right? Unless your armor tanked.
And even still, fall damage still applies and you don't really see it as often as it was first introduced since its kind of a situational thing unless just for explosives and LOL's

I don't find it that much of an issue. Also I can't use them on my sentinel suits so it does nothing for my mobility over terrain.
To explain further: I run Gallente Sentinel so I only have one high slot up until Proto level. So I have to make the choice between one jump mod or a damage mod (shields arnt worth it for GalSent IMO). Now one jump mod makes no difference to my jump height at all and if I was to stack two on my proto suit it would make a difference but I would be giving up two slots that I could use for damage.
I propose we keep these mods and give all armour based sentinels a slight jump bonus only so we can get over these barriers. Reason being that I would be an ineffective sentinel without my damage mods since the damage nerfs to the regular HMG.
I find your lack of heaviness... disturbing...

Yes, the hit detection in the game is off. It is off for everyone but your statement about shooting mechanics doesn't make sense when it is followed by "every 'fair' one on one fight comes down to who can strafe in circles or left to right whilst maintaining a better hit rate than the other person will win." It seems like you are stating "the person that can not get hit and maintain accuracy will win", which I will argue is a skill regardless of the shooting mechanics in this game not being the best.

Thoughts? The most immersive and balanced approach i can think of is to increase kick/dispersion when airborne. Peeps can still shoot, but the physics of recoil matters - extra marks for getting the torque right..

Or you could wait until they hit the ground because of fall damage and then pop them hard with your light weapon of choice, they have no shields and get wrecked by anything. This is, of course, assuming you have some actual aiming skills and not just fire wildly up in the air like I see majority doing. LOL.

Dont blame us because u cant shoot in the air the main characters who benefit from this is shield based characters. U wanna know whats worse getting into ground battles with heavys and gal or amar shietheads who win not because of skill no they win cause of armor stack and the major fact that shield based weapons like idk combat rifle scr rifle assualt rife and it seems every other gun in the game meant to do shield based damage destroying what little armor we have. Hell even armor based weapons fck shields. Dont even get started on hit detection when a scouts hit box jacked up yet I still getting hit markers n he takes no damage or many other characters for that matter. Quit ur complaining because I run cal and up till this update we had nothing going for us now that we have mobility u wanna bitc plz. learn gun game not side stepping n expecting to win because this update makes every suit viable |

If they jump, run under them. They'll turn around, to try to hit you, but you can just point to their landing spot and prefire death into them. They loose about 40-60 HP per jump, if they have them stacked. It's like negative plating. They can't change direction after they jump. Really easy kills.
If you have a problem with aiming, you should really practice field tactics.

I don't fire Plasma Cannon's with my toes (as much as I wish I could), untill then I don't see why we wouldn't be able to fire while jumping...
Your whole screen shakes while you are jumping by the way and is almost a miracle to hit someone directly during this process, vice versa, it is not impossible for others to shoot you. In fact, I have forged and plasma cannoned people jumping through the air as well as seen snipers pick some of these jumpers out of the sky..... If that can happen then I don't see how people can complain.

No, it's fun and pretty easy to counter homie. Pull out the ole cr and start shooting at them on the way down. Or when they are low hp from your boring gun fight on the ground and try to jump away just blap them.
