It's time we upgraded the HUD to show more information.
Needed upgrades include:
-Graphic showing which type of Orbital you currently have access to.
-An animation on your ARMOR bar if someone has a rep tool on you.
-Allied names and chevrons should turn yellow if they are taking damage.
-Total used/available BANDWIDTH
-Deployed equipment
-Unique Racial HUD designs (or at least color schemes for now)
-Ability to 'PING' map locations to our squadmates. (For players who are not squad leader)
-Low Ammo indicator beside a players name IF you are carrying a hive AND IF player is near you (within 25 M)
- Etc.
Who cares what some sniper has to say.

EDIT: Another reason this is a good idea - A lot of players are coming back to Dust hearing about all the awesome new changes. Coming back to Dust and seeing a big shiny new HUD immediately upon entering battle would be pretty cool.
Who cares what some sniper has to say.

Idea refinement:
Divide HUD's into 3 layouts and 4 color schemes.
Heavy, Medium, and light HUD structures
And 4 color schemes for the 4 races.
Of course, have an option to revert to default original hud for all suits if player chooses.
Who cares what some sniper has to say.

Added to the OP, but there should be a separate indication in FW if an EVE pilot is at your district.
I've had EVE pilots show up and nobody dropped their OB because no one noticed

Afterthought: Squad status display for the squad leader.
List of squad mates, and a graphic beside their name to show their status: IE: Dead, under fire, in vehicle, defend order on, hacking, cloaked.
Would be handy, neat, and give a bit of extra info for squad leaders
