So with different drop suit tiers, there are different skins. Well wouldn't it be cool if there were different tank skins per tier and type.
Maybe a white and gold Proto Cal SHAV. Or a Green and black Gallente Shav.

Could be cool, I'd also like to see the corp logo of the owner on the side, there adding this to eve ships soon I hear. would be nice for us too

Just make them different colors. All that customization crap is a fever dream in this game. Proto tanks should be different than the rest, solo tanks should be different than 3 man.

Proto railgun is black, though it's bearly noticeable. But yeah, it would interfere with telling the difference between Cal/Gal and Min/Amarr tanks.
There's also the argument that they're not technically "Proto" tanks, but i'm not gonna be that guy.
Maybe adding just one color extra to the SHAVs to tell the difference between HAVs (And maybe other colors later if UHAVs and DHAVs get added).

If we look at existing examples of the world around us, combat uniforms throughout the ages have gone to extensive lengths to make the entire attire the soldier is wearing to be consistent. Hence, the name uniform. Whether is muskteers dressed like this or Spec ops troops dressed like that, the idea is to be encompassing.
It is a mistake to apply this same philosophy to vehicle skins. To a certain extent.
instead of a full color skin, why not make more use of livery and trims? if we are to use, lets just say for the sake of argument, blue for ADV and red for PRO, it is possible to add some of this trim around the hull, place a chevron or two here or there, and update the faction logo and the running lights to this color.
I feel that making small changes to the existing models using just a bit of trim and livery updates could give people the visual recognition they need while minimizing artist workload. It would also be compatible with the Amarr and Minmatar place holders as the 2 reskins for them could just have the standardized trim and livery added during the reskin.
Dont get me wrong, i would like a unique vehicle for each name in the market, but I know the resources to make this happen are not available at this time. |

They didn't redskin the proto Bolt Pistol, Ion Pistol, or Magsec SMG either.
I say recolor should be black/red like all the other weapons, and the proto HAVs should have a red/black redskin too like the dropsuits
