Everybody I talked to during my short EVE stint, said it's not worth the hassle. Also Dust influenced noobish EVE guys are not used to the very organized way EVE players do their things, which leads to a lot of problems.
What I gathered though, was if the districts would give defense bonuses to POS's or fleets close to them, that would be a much bigger incentive.
In my opinion, districts should generate resources that EVE players can't get otherwise, or just for insane amounts of money. This would make it profitable to hold districts for EVE corps, and really connect the two games. |

The reasons for the Jita riots, and the complete and utter fiasco that the World of Darkness project was, gives me not too much trust in any of the CCP head honchos!
The only guy that has shown promise, and connection to the playerbase, seems to be the Ratt. If CCP is giving him enough leeway, AND funds, we might see improvements.
But still, there is this glorified single shard universe (build with duct tape), which in my opinion might be the biggest hurdle for all eve franchises in the long run. In my eyes, the connection betwheen EVE and Dust, though one of the selling points, might as well be one the biggest problems the game will have regarding lag and other improvements. |

It is a lack of understanding by Eve players that Dust has many adults playing, although you will still get some console kiddies, its not as widespread (I believe, but idk for sure) as what most un-informed Eve players believe. This causes riots, and such in game, the thought that someone they believe they can have no affect upon (even though dropping an OB causes a significant isk loss for a good number of people if done right) has an affect upon their game by being part of it. Hence lack of interest in having mercs part of new eden as anything other than pets or a cute side game.
Considering hardware upgrades, what I gathered, sounds more like additions, and not like a complete replacement. So basically the minmatar style ducttaping stuff to the old stuff. Similar things seem to be going on in the coding department.
It's basically the same problem windows had, with having dos as underlying construct, which hindered development quite a bit.
Whatever, the whole project development at CCP has less than stellar records so far...
That the EVE guys don't want us to influence their game, is understandable, but could be countered with more intermingling with them in local chat for example. I have some characters who got placed in random stations and EVE startercorps after return from biomass. So my local is basically EVE pilots and no dusters whatsoever. This leads to some chats with eve guys, who are curious what a lone merc is doing in those systems. My Idea, is that all Dusters get spread out much more, so that we have more entanglements with the EVE dudes. On creating the characters, we should be put in EVE starter corps, and not in these Dust only starter corps.
If we don't communicate with EVE guys on a regular basis, they will never know, that there are quite a lot of grown ups in this game!
