Basically you start out low leveled and pick a class. You can level up with any class and some level quicker than others. Some classes require a lot of work and level fast, while others require no preparation and level slower.
The classes are as follows:
The Data Nerd: They provide useful information and level fairly quickly, they fight Trolls. Best support class, and are generally helped by CPMs, and Devs, due to their benevolent nature. They are always looking to level up to CPM.
The Tear Collector: They tend to level slower and make lots of threads to battle Rain Makers. Most Tear Collectors have also leveled in Troll, and use this class to deal devastating attacks to Data Nerds and Rainmakers.
The Rain Maker: They level moderately and create lots of threads, they attempt to drown all enemies with endless crying. They on rare occasion summon Devs or CPM, which can alter the battles with Tear Collectors and Trolls.
The Entertainer: They level fairly quickly, and provide stories and lore. They are generally ignored by aggressive classes. They can also perform a special attack called "Getting Paid" where they may attempt to gain ISK with their leveled abilities. Taking levels in Entertainer will help you avoid Dev attacks like "Ban Hammer" and "Locking Bro".
The Troll: They level quickly and generally provide wrong data to harass all other classes. This is the most common class, but is one of the funnest classes to watch battle. They are effective based on extreme high intelligence or extreme low intelligence. The higher the better or the lower the better. Some Trolls may choose to level into CPM, it has been done in the past.
The Troll Crafter: They level slowly, but can cause damage through providing wrong data that create their signature attack "The Shitstorm". They gain power based on the number of trolls helping them.
The Bridge Builder: They level the slowest, but can cause other disruptive classes to convert to Data Nerds.
The CPM: They level quickly. They can immediately gain attention but are under constant attack from the aggressive classes. Most started as Data Nerds.
The Dev: OP class that is not permitted to the public. They have ultimate power and can cast "Ban Hammer" which renders any enemy out of battle. They can also cast "Locking Bro" which stops Trolls, Tear Collectors, and Troll Crafters from advancing in levels. They can be fought in a variety of ways, but battles must be chose wisely.
Troll Crafters and Rainmakers seem to do the most damage. Devs have a high resistance to Trolls and Tear Collectors. They can instantly boost levels for other classes. They are typically summoned by Rainmakers, or Data Nerds to battle Trolls, and Troll Crafters. Bridge Builders are the closest player class to Dev although Bridge Builders never gain special attacks.
Multiclassing is permitted and many people will take levels in all these classes.
I'm only level 2, but I've already cast two "Shitstorms" during my time as a Troll Crafter. Tank Cloak, and Unlocking Salvage were very successful. I've been hit with a Ban Hammer twice. Hurts like hell, but will force you to level up your Entertainer skills.
What on earth am I?
