It seems like the dev team is faced with decisions that have a linear path to $.
I'm not sure that's the case obviously, but it seems like someone would see that bringing old players back to use $ on the new stuff they've added would create far more revenue than any other AUR using feature provided to the current playerbase. |

I'm not sure I agree with this. I think Rattati knows where it needs to go. Dust was a killed game less than a year ago. There's no other way to look at it, someone at CCP thought it was time to put a nail in Dust's coffin with the Legion announcement. If that wasn't intentional then I think it looks even worse as a decision.
We are months removed from there never being another expansion. I think we are getting ahead of ourselves with the opportunities that the current dev team has to work with.
There aren't subscriptions to track so I think it's safe to say the only thing a FTP game can present to investors/shareholders is player retention and their spending habits. It's obvious that our small playerbase is spending well, now it's time to work on the other item. |

The recent stuff these guys released was purely a money grabbing stunt and disgusting to watch... Truly. They still haven't fixed the Apex suit's favorability selection or the renaming of it. Really half-arse stuff.
I sometimes wonder if some of these developers that work on parts of Dust aren't subcontractors or something similar. In other words they'd have higher costs pulling someone back to polish something up rather than just having an employee work on it.
It's really the only way some of the small stuff being f'd up for months makes sense.
As much as I like the officer suits and weapons, we still have small issues with existing stuff. Experimental weapons still have glitched stats. I have no idea what the workload would be or the costs associated, but it seems that fixing these items that provide ammunition for the detractors would be first on the list.
I don't want to see added items until the existing ones have correct stats, descriptions, etc. To clarify, I think this needs to be done instead of adding more items not to detract from bringing new gamemode content. |
