As the title says, a handheld device that takes an equipment slot and is preferablebly used by logi's to provide cover for their allies if they are near any 'good' cover.
If has to be about 3-4 meters wide and as tall or a bit taller as a normal dropsuit It can can't run forever so let it either be drained overtime or depleted through a certain number of damage while deployed. You are allowed to move with it but with a slightly less movement penalty and you can't hjump with it.
It can be depleted instantly by flux's or be destroyed easily by plasmas cannons, mass drivers, etc. but for the most part it can take a good bit of damage. Idk how it would look or which race would own it but I think of the halo deplorable shield when I think of how it should look when manually held and deployed.

I can imagine it would be of caldari design, I REALLY like this idea. how would it work when enemy's walk into it though?? I think they should pass threw it of course, or it would be used to block corridor's for a long time.
I agree it should have a damage threshold if it gets hit with a launcher or tank rail it should obviously drop?

People has been asking for this for years, even a deploy-able version, but I would love to have this. I was also thinking it could be made as an armor version designed by the Amarr. |

If it's armor based and it gets damaged then it would need nanites to self repair it or an armor repair tool thus taking longer for it to 'cooldown'.

I agree it should have a damage threshold if it gets hit with a launcher or tank rail it should obviously drop? It also adds gameplay to areas of the maps that sorely need it, the empty open tracks between all the structures. helps your team move forward without cover It really depends on how the mechanics of it works(lore wise). So if it's meant to be great at blocking off areas and can handle a lot of damage then it should be non phase-able, but it's it's more for light to medium defense of any personnel in the area and for ease of access while being protected then you should be allowed to 'phase' through.
Or what would be cool if they're were two variants for both of what I said and just bring which ever but your limited to one per suit
