Studying for a test, I wasn't really taught most of it's basics. Had really crappy education in my early school days.

Kinda sad when I don't know some math basics. Especially that subject in mathematics. Trying to multiply decimals, converting percentages into fractions and most long division are a pain in the butt. This is what the price is been born with Brutor blood. lol

Wow, the cover looks alluring! Thanks, read the description. Looks like the right item I need to improve some areas I am lacking.

That's algebra. Arithmetic is like your story problems when prompt on a test. Usually dealing with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Then those four basics are broken up into categories and sub-categories how to compute various areas with in mathematics to "solve" everyday problems.

This is what the price is been born with Brutor blood. lol To multiply fractions, just multiply the top of one by the top of the other, and the bottom of one by the bottom of the other. Examples: 1/2 x 1/4 = 1/8 1/2 x 5/4 = 5/8 To convert percentages to decimals, just think of a percentage as something out of 100, and then reduce the resulting fraction. Examples: 20% ---> 20/100 = 1/5 70% ---> 70/100 = 7/10 I would do long division, But I know forum formatting will just mess it up.
That being said, percent means "percentum" Latin. Not sure if I spelled it right. Percent means per-one hundred in the whole number area. Just a ton to remember, but yet really important to understand.

 I graduated...
But the job I am wanting to get into requires some know-how on basic mathematics. It's called the ASVAB test, I scored 18, but they only need me to pass 31. And I can go through the MEPS afterwords. (Military) lots say it is easy, but not for a late learner like myself.

I gotta do it all without a calculator. So mostly I have to do it mentally.

This is what the price is been born with Brutor blood. lol Aligning your columns of numbers is very important, and will help avoid simple mistakes. fractions and their formulas to solve need to be memorised, Math in all it's forms is best learned by practice and repetition! good luck and kick it's ass.
Awwww, yeeeeeah it's Global Rage. I miss fighting with you. I see you everywhere.
Of course, as Caldari, mathematics is given. lol

Math is a frustratingly interesting subject of the academia. It's said that numbers unlock the secrets of the universe, I for one believe that's true. lol

Arithmetic problems weren't meant to be done by hand.

Then that makes one too dependent. I mentioned earlier that a test that I am soon to take doesn't allow calculator usage.

Arithmetic, general knowledge on mathematics. Are you proficient with converting numbers and solving problems with fractions in them? I'm curious, lot's say that they aren't good, but when I seen performance it's quite the contrary.
