I like to imagine that the caldari are equivalent to the Japanese. Very small population compared to other countries but have ridiculous technological advancements. Sounds like caldari don't you think?

The color of proto suits have nothing to do with the lore of our world, and honestly makes no sense because manufacturers from different rival nations would not forsake their own nation's preferred colors or their own corporate colors to make their prototype suits black with red lights. Everyone uses lasers in Star War, yet you wouldn't say the rebels are Amarr. The lasers of Star Wars don't actually even behave like lasers should; you can see them travelling with the naked eye, yet lasers (like all electromagnetic radiation) travel at the speed of light.
