I haven't used anything but proto since chromosome. (Or was it open beta? Whenever the last reset was before release.)
Honestly I like destroying the community.
This community is bad and so is CCP. They don't deserve this community anyways. This entire game was just one big money grab. Dust has no future.
Legion is going places and dust is still a money grab. Lets proto stomp this community into the ground until they shut the servers off.

I have no hope for legion. I should have put an after that. Just because dust is profitable doesn't mean its going anywhere. Dust will die a slow painful death and will never be ported to PS4.
I would honestly play dust on PS4 but I don't see that happening
Please bring your proto out and try to kill me. It's all part of my plan to make the scrubs go broke and ragequit dust.

I am not quitting. I've played this game for 8 months, 8 Million SP, and I've suffered this terrible economy. I'm still going to fight, no matter how much proto you bring out.

If you've been running Proto since chromoGǪ and people are still here, you may want to rethink this plan of yours. Seems like you are just basically doing the same thing with some expectation that you can drive people away.
Not the first post I've seen like this, indeed seen this kind of thing since coming to the forums.
Hell, people have played this game through some of the most precariously bad builds I've seen, continued playing after Rouge Wedding, and had Protostomps throughout thatGǪ
You may need a different strategy if you want to shut this game down.

The community has shrunk from over 5000 active players to less then 3000 active players online since beta. Sounds like its working to me. It was from lots of mistakes from ccp too. The constant proto stopping helps though.

FPS games on PC is dead.... lol..
The market has slowly died off over the last 10 years.. Sales figures for FPS games on PC is stupid low.
Mainly because most of them are **** compared to Team fortress and Counter-strike's...... If DUST was on PC competing with other PC shooters? Laugh? There is barely enough of a market that would even TRY this IP on PC.
And if the goal of releasing a FPS on the PC is so that EVE players can play it? What the hell is the point of that as a company running a business? That makes absolutely no sense...
Legion would have to change, add to or innovate the PC FPS genre in a MASSIVE way.. to make enough waves to even get the game on the map....
Legion is a neat concept in an extremely tiny competitive market. |

I agree. What does turn a new player off of the game is getting facerolled by people with better gear. I had a few friends that I told to play dust. None of them play anymore and when I asked them why they say. "I die in 3-5 bullets and have to put 20 bullets into someone to kill them." They don't know what proto is. They just know they were getting wrecked by people with better gear.

No, it doesn't. Yes it does. Everytime I see you in game I will yank out my SKACR and murder you, even if it empties my wallet He is quite the fool. OP, Do not expect Legion. It is dead for what we know and DUST is now profitable for CCP. (From what I've heard.) Forced, you will have me (Along with all my proto weapons) helping.
Given CCP's mmo, it isn't 100% out of the realm that they may make Legion into something else and even screw it up; i played EvE for 4 years before Dust was out and they made some pretty odd decisions then and still continue it to this day. The WoD is one big example where instead of still making something off the IP they just scrapped it all together; why recoup losses lets just scrap it right?
CCP just has Eve and a bit from Dust for their money~making. EvE players are in it for the long term and mmo's have a different track than games like Dust. I just run BPO builds or militia on the weekend; too much going wrong for proto/adv. I just stopped caring about KDR, ISK or whatever at this point. This isn't a game worth investing any really seriousness to it. Ppl pay to win here and I get that, whether it's to max out their warbage and stack damage mods, boosters to cap SP gain or to run proto even when they run out of ISK.
If the OP thinks we need to run proto full~time I think that is the case already; the active players and peak time have remained steady meaning that's kind of it for population. The only thing I can see them do is really mess around with game mechanics as a test run of ideas for Legion just to get Legion right in their own world knowing Dust is going bye~bye. |
