With things like Star Citizen on the horizon and it's FPS module trying to put Dust onto PC is what doesn't make sense.
Dust would provide a unique experience on the PS4 and I think that if CCP Rattati hits his goals for this year Dust will be in a good enough place to warrant making a move over to that platform.

#DustPS4 What does Dust bring that is unique?
Probably more than anything else to social side of it. Also with player trading coming soon a P2P market.
I've played black light, PS2, and Destiny and I really just don't find their PvP game play anywhere near as compelling.

Once the edges have been ironed out and development has good momentum, THEN consoles are an option. IMO, realistically, by the time DUST is ready to make a platform switch the PS4 may well be at the end of its lifecycle. We've been down that road once before. This is the best way forward. Dust is still in active development, and Sony being in the way of the release approval process is slowing that development down. PC port for a 1 year sprint, then a PS4 port once the game is more feature-filled and stable.
Problem with announce supporting PC over PS4 as we saw quite clearly with FF 2014 was that you decimate your own current community, which is now currently making Dust 514 money.
The best solution is either going PS4 first or announcing dual PC/PS4 support.
In a perfect world we could have a period of PS3/PS4/PC cross play.

Correct.
CCP has confirmed on several occasions that Project Legion was running on Unreal 3.

mollerz wrote: With regards to CCP it just doesn't make any sense. To keep Dust on PS3... odd as it is. To use UE3 for legion? That is just beyond the pale. To use it for PS4? Again, would make no sense to stick with UE3.
Another thing, if you are going to engineer/dev a game with a specific game engine that runs a game that will go through a decade or so of evolutions.. you are going to have to face facts that in that time frame you will be converting to updated engines and hardware.
As long as Dust is on the PS3 I have to agree, but the second they use UE3 for anything else it becomes detrimental.
Whether or not it makes sense is less of an issue than if the costs to switch engines is exceedingly high. I'd hate for CCP to feel like they MUST use a new engine on PS4 and therefore stop themselves from moving to a new console because they can't afford to change the engine.
