I'm thinking this will now put more pressure on CCP to decide sooner rather than later on whether to port Dust over to the PS4 or to the PC. Honestly, I prefer both if the game's revenue can support it. Because of this latest news, I'm now more inclined to spend more money on this game primarily to help support Dust development.

You know what would be super duper smart? CROWDFUNDING Look at what Star Citizen did with Kickstarter! Their goal was 2-4 million and they're rolling in deep pockets at 74.8 million and still climbing. There are SO MANY EVE players and EVE has been around forever and if CCP whipped up a sweet looking trailer with some actual LEGION assets or future DUST assets and gave at least a basic game plan....I bet they could have deep pockets too in no time. I'd donate! I'd be thrilled to donate! I'd be foaming at the mouth to donate! And then they could hit the turbo button and hire some devs, expand the team and kick this place up a notch or three!
There is just one major problem with your master plan.
Eve Online players are not stupid. We don't fall for fancy trailers.

How were those false promises delivered?
That is when we learned back in 2011 to stop falling for the hype.

Nothing Certain wrote:It's good to know Rattati and the team's efforts are recognized. We had some clear monetization moves that weren't popular but maybe people will see that they were necessary.
People weren't very happy with the Decryption Keys at first due to their low salvage rate, seemingly common AUR-related Daily Missions for keys (and very rare free keys), and the lackluster loot we got from strongboxes during the initial weeks of Daily Missions being introduced. But thankfully that's all been changed now that we have at least one guaranteed free key from a Daily Mission, strongboxes only handing out high-level loot (including BPOs), and simple trading being a high possibility for Warlords 1.1.

If CCP announced plans to move Dust to x86 architecture and reaffirmed their commitment to this being a "10 year game" I suspect the PS3 version would become even more profitable.
#DustPS4 I feel like you're right....if they came out and said hey, we're going to spend the next 2-3 years building a well balanced PS4 version of Dust 514 and we're going to use Dust 514 via the PS3 to test what works and what doesn't.....we'd all be like sweet, cool yeah we can roll with that and then when the big day came we'd migrate. Plus it would give people time to buy a PS4 lol plus black friday's and all kinds of opportunities for deals! Who would disagree to this? This is pretty much what everybody wants, right?
/marks black friday on his calendar

@Golden Day
Why push and punch? Are you fitting myofibril stimulants that day? You could just jump 30 feet over their heads and cut in line.
