I hopped onto Dust for a while just to see this. From what I saw, jumping certainly isn't OP. I fought against scouts and assaults stacking them, and if they jumped, all I had to do was aim at them, shoot and they died (due to low EHP after stacking). It may need slight tuning, but it makes the game more fun.

The blue bottles seem to be most effective on assaults due to the fact that assaults have more slots available compared to scouts. That and they don't have to worry too much about fall damage killing them should they be shot at mid jump because scouts clearly can't jump high enough to engage inertia dampeners.

It's just hard to get used to. This weekend was the first time I saw jumping used as a real weapon and damn those Mk.0's were fast as hell.
Raphael: I'm warning you. Do not leave me here. I will find you.
Castiel: Maybe one day. Today you're my little bitch

Well you can stack ferro's since they have no penalty. Obviously not as much HP as regular plates but still a fair amount to keep you going a bit.

I agree. Despite the ferroscale plates not having any penalties, they don't offer enough benefits for me.

And hardly any regen, therefore the fit will be potato. Sustained fire will destroy it completely. You can toss a rep module or a hive that does both ammo & reps on there, it's what I do on my fits except without the myro's; which is amazing since I hated ferro's when they first came out. They're not the most beastly of fittings but they can get things done and rep up a fair amount between engagements and while I might not kill much, I also don't tend to die much unless I'm being stubborn. Of course if you're running in a squad there should be at least some form of logi'ing going on unless everyone is running heavy. So barring that, there should be a couple of members in the squad with different equipment.
Edit: and sustained fire will destroy anything completely.

proto heavies can jump slightly high but they are slow on the horizontal plane, wait until they traverse open ground, or retreat.

Actually, no I haven't....because heavies really can't jump that high, even if they do stack blue bottles.

IMO they are only good on min assaults and scouts because of this. On the calassault it's pretty good, but that stamina drains...

that extra hp from ferroscales with jumping players does not save you all the time, you have low ewar ability, remember active scans, a ASCR or ACR or burst AR or TAC AR or ARR or burst CR have hipfire dispersion stats that are user friendly counters against jumping players at different ranges depending on the weapon.
burst CR is roughly 30-40m
burst AR is roughly 10-23m
ACR is roughly 12-17m
ASCR is roughly 10-18m
ARR is roughly 10-16m
TAC AR is roughly 15m
SCR is roughly 15m
other might have different results.

It is a percentage boost. The hamster curb garbage plus say 45%, is still only looking at maybe a rail. Plus they are still slow. Try looking at a PC for examples of where the game is going. People up high, shooting at people down low. We either switch to SCR, RR, or CR on the ground to pick them off or they rain death on points. Either way the engagements are spreading out.
The flat maps will be the equalizer for jumpers.
Now to start shotgunning and REing again, everyone will love this play style. Face Palm!

Fairly sure if they can jump there to place them you can jump there to destroy them. |
