Before you go freaking out, I have not and will not say anything about changing payout amounts.
So I was thinking about the state of Dust and thought that we could all agree (OMG the forums agree on something??) that there is a huge gap in ISK. How does that gap get shrunk down without using the liberal redistribution of wealth? What do we have in the real world that Dust doesnt quite have? ---INCOME TAXES--- Yes, taxes. Corp taxes are a way of funding the corp based off your immediate earnings. What if.... at the end of the month (fiscal month??) there is a tax imposed that is a flat percentage of ISK values earned. ISK VALUES will not just be the currency but the sale value of salvage earned as well. So transferring money away from the account will not avoid the tax. Spending all your ISK in attempt to avoid the payment will result in debts. Tax Evasion/Debt will result in intelligibility for any match outside of public contracts until the Debt is cleared.
What i havent quite worked out yet is how it would work for CEOs and Corp Officers who currently have billions stashed in corps

There is no economy in this game. That might change when player trading comes in. But even than, what does it matter? Someone having a lot of wealth does not make me any richer or poorer (though running my Rubberman Assault suit does).
I have to ask two very simple questions: Why are you suggesting this? How would this make the game better?
"This is B.S! This is B.S! I paid money! Cash money, dollars money, cash money!"

Add some luxury / Vanity items that can only be gotten via large amounts of ISK.
Ex: Pay 100 M ISK (or X AUR) as a corp to have all corp members have their corp tag next to your name on the kill feed for a 30 day period.

regarding the second question, it removes ISK from the game, which was one of the reasons we couldnt join EVE in the first place. secondly, it makes people accountable for what they have earned. ISK is easily earned so i didnt think it would be too much of a problem

If you want to close the wealth gap this game needs to introduce price inflation. Have you ever heard that saying "20 dollars doesn't get you what it used to"?
If you raise the price on everything in this game and raise ISK payout by the exact same rate it will lower the value of all the ISK acquired before the inflation was put into practice. Doing this will help lower the wealth gap.
A flat income tax on everyone won't close the gap since it would have a direct and equal effect on everyone; it will simply shift the gap. Also, it will not be a tax unless the tax money goes to something that benefits everyone. What you described sounds more like a robbery. |

Inflation is in essence a punitive tax on the consumer, and thus hurt the new player.
ISK destruction is needed to allow the new guy to grow, and also not get proto spammed.
