I don't agree with this, but especially in our early days of PC it was a necessary evil to support the team to think that any new corp can come in to PC battles and win enough to profit is crazy (unless it's a new corp, 90% vets) Our corp is made up of some veteran players, but they have the misfortune to have to carry scrubs like me
DMG held our first district a week before Passive ISK was removed, after clones filled, we had made about 24 million ISK, then boom CCP 'fixed' it by cutting off life support for new PC groups and paying 0 for clones
Since then, we have used the corps 'Clone Carnage' and 'Carnage Corpse' to increase revenue for our mercs I don't have the patience to play Farmville while playing Dust, so don't mistake me, we have not actively farmed but when the opportunity was there we took it, 'Clone Carnage' was used for a time when FA got attracted to us for those that do not PC, a new corp hanging on vs FA.g's is expensive... about 30 million can be burned per loss
so I took the chance, re-couped ISK while keeping our mercs in the fights.
Recently we have flipped a handful of Nyain districts after they changed timers to a good EU timer with the current state of PC, there have not been enough newer corps to hand them to, and we have no intentions to hold more Districts than the number of active mercs we have need to have active PC content. So when we held more than 10 'Carnage Corpse' was born, and our PC mercs got some revenue from that which, depending how you see it they had earned by fighting for the land in the first place... But again, I dislike having to play Farmville and wanted little or no part of it after it was setup.
If you leave mercs to their own devices and they get greedy, DMG no longer profit from 'farms' as they are in control of a couple mercs rather than the corporation, so it is their problem. I will happily remove their districts, when farming is no longer an issue in MH, until then, it's their problem
Zatara and Shepherds comments on who farmed more and who started it, inspired this post As it is something I disagree with, all active land should be used to fight, but if you look at the bigger picture handing new corps districts and not sufficient support to hold them, is another method that leads to farming these corporations cannot defend themselves vs experienced PC players, so they get farmed via fights
A % of MH is completely useless land.
xx The Fairies Tim's lemonade stand anything from NAE or FE while big dadtt is there Nyains old slice, now Cap Ac's (not enough have the level or balls to fight you for it) and an entire planet to 'Billboards' when only one of them is actually a service (Eve/Dust ISK exchange) and while mentioning CBM, I'm sure they have a better idea who is doing it than I do
If farming is going to be stopped, it should be cut off for all active PC groups/mercs not just who is picked out The concept of CBM is actually a decent one, if it regulated all active teams for farming/flipping.. But how often are Meildolf districts used to farm?? more than the rest of MH from what I've seen
Victor Hadah, owns more land than most corps in MH, and he is solo in his corp (he is OP)
TL;DR - reasoning why new blood needs to 'farm' in order to survive MH - and the corps 'policing' the farms hold more of them than any others |

The concept of CMB besides trolling new corps, is actually quite solid, it is a gathering some PC veterans who have the contacts and mercs at their disposal to rival any active team in MH... so I'd suggest keeping it
If the purpose was re-defined and the 'rules' applied to all.
0.H attempting to stabilize new activity in Almur system was a great move for PC while it was active they had the land on offer to share with beginning teams and anyone that's fought them knows you better be ready I had high hopes for that system continuing as it would grow the new corps into active PC corps (If possible I would love to see this returned to MH, and offer a friendly zone for new blood)
maybe it could, who knows?
But if it is going to work there should be an opposite, if Almur is for beginners section off Meildolf for vets most of you can recall how 0.H intended Almure to run, so Meildolf would offer a similar set of rules.
Veteran, or corps with enough practice to fight those veterans, should hold 1 district each in that area it would not only work as a base for the best teams to fight each other, but when a corp looks to the top of MH they would see the best teams Molden Heath has to offer...
Probably won't work, and you can try tell me how to live my life, but you can't tell me how to dream !! |
