So for some reason everyone and their mother wants to call in a DS. And all they do is attract more people to bring out swarms
What am I doing here?

Shrugs. People with no money and no gun game are "searching out reasons to stay" so they use the vehicles .. then QQ when they still lose ..

I always call in a dropship because I cannot get the hang of them so trying to fly them is an interesting challenge.
They can let you put uplinks in a position that makes it easier for your team to get objectives |

there are some serious bads in dropships though. not even ADS are safe from bads. earlier today i had a rail incubus pilot try to blap like 8 people off a rooftop, fail, and resign themselves to trying to goomba stomp them. |

i hope to have a good five minutes before AV makes it challenging for me. With maximum vehicles all being in the air i am hit immediately

DS are fun to fly. Sort of like sniping when it was decent. We used to snipe across an entire battlefield. Now, sniping sucks. Even the Thale's is just another gun. So big deal, got a kill with my Thale. I was nearly close enough to club him/her to death.
Personally, the ground game is just so slow. Sprinting is barely walking speed, walking is ambling and god forbid you equip a heavy suit. My other FPS/MMO allows you to choose your scope. So firing with just an iron sight is ... well, terrible. Which is why I pulled out a sniper rifle, with the worst sniper scopes in all of FPS history.
Drop a vehicle, whichever you prefer - drive or fly. Evade, evade and get a kill now and then. Flying is fun, regardless of the battle. The daily battle thingie under R1 rewarded me for blowing up stuff. Fine, dropped a tank, blowed up some stuff right proper.
Plus, the more that are hounding the ADS crowd, the less are hacking the point(s). You do hack points, right? ;-)
My favorite tank is a Lightning. Just sayin.

Because everybody and their mother wants to put uplinks on the highest surface the game will allow.

people with gun game and alot of ISK have nothing better to do but learn something new....i tried
i got sick of the overpowered swarm launcher very VERY quick, stopped trying to get PC worthy good with ADS.
edit: flying is easy, really easy. Shooting is easy (ADS shooting). I just am a bad decision maker when in a bad ADS situation....always lose the DS, rage and stomp the reds who used the AV on me

Mainly rooftop links, i mainly use mine as an arial scanner. fly fast and low with scanners running over the hills to find snipers and to just get a quick intel of the field

Not accurate. Some are here because dust offers a rewarding flight system. The only real competition is bf, but in there jets and helos are more for air jihad missions... |

let them call them out.. it's more targets for the SL. it raises pilots chance of surviving because he's not the only target flying. if your DS isn't easy to shoot down they will go for the ones who are. If you'r the only one flying you will probably go down. they're gonna call SL no matter what. |

Rooftop uplinks. How I hate thee in pubs....
Blueberries will now proceed to camp rooftop till enemy team wipes them out with an orbital.
Either that or they just get slaughtered as they jump down one by one into a sea of redberries.
But hey, the derpship pilot got his spawn points so he don't care.

that is one view of it. However one DS is not going to attract swarms right away until deemed an issue. 3 or more immediately are deemed an issue to the other team
