I think I might have a good suggestion on how the sniper rifle should work, instead of the current stay still so your scope doesn't go all over the place thing, how about lower the scope sway dramatically if crouching but don't remove the sway completely
the sway needs to be enough to make long range kills hard to achieve and the sway should be even more pronounced when standing but not so much that you cant shoot a guy standing about 10 or so meter away?
I think this would combat the current red line/roof snipers and we might see more front line snipers
the sway should be a challenge for kills more then 300-400 meters away?
and for the assault sniper rifle for kills more then 175-200 meters away?
also the max range should be increased so that really good snipers can get skill shots further away from effective range
as for the sway standing kills for the regular rifle should be hard to get at more then 25m?
and for the assault for more then 50m?
this is just some minor speculation from me I have no way of testing this myself other then from comparing other games and how snipers work in them
but if the devs could test this out and see if they like it they might change it
Im open to feedback from veteran snipers and experienced players not so much from scrubs and fotm players (is there even a difference from the two)
as I stated this is only a suggestion and I haven't worked out all the kinks so please if you have something good to add or any concerns or points that I might be missing or maybe just a slight adjustment to the numbers just let me know |

I say let gravity effect your bullets at the very least. Clearly there is gravity on the planes of which we fight, or we would be floating off into space and shooting at eve pilots in their cockpits D;

Sway needs to be done away with completely and hipfire inaccuracy needs to go too, most snipers should have a slightly higher RoF. A lot of the problems with sniping come from the fact that users feel like they cant defend themselves up close and on top of that they need to be stationary *and* crouching to even use their weapon.
I'm okay with the current tactical sniper rifle aside from its seriously whacky hit detection. I'd really like to see snipers be more of a 'tactical rail rifle than what we've currently got though. Also some renaming so that sniper rifles line up with current conventions.
Tactical Sniper -> Assault Sniper (this thing is all about putting rounds down range) Charge -> 'standard breach' sniper rifle variant (just make it unable to hold a charge... Essentially make them big scary bolt pistols that hit for pissoff amounts of damage). Standard sniper -> Tactical Sniper (high damage, but slightly more oriented towards RoF than the 'breach' variants ****off size damage)
In short, I really hate the passive way that snipers play and how the weapons design encourages them to be off the field and well away from anyone who might want to shoot at them.

The sniper bullet isn't really a bullet, it's just a ball of energy. Gravity have no effect on that. Gravity would have an effect on a projectile though.

You would absolutely ruin the charge sniper if you couldn't hold the charge, especially because it takes 2 seconds just to charge.

The Sniper Rifle needs to paint targets for 7 seconds on the mini map and give you +35 for every assist you get from it (instead of the regular +25).
It would help give a defined role to Snipers besides hill "slayers"(hate the term).

It is a solid projectile that is accelerated to outstanding velocities.
