Indeed.
I have observed that the greatest strategy currently used by any group attempting to stomp is to simply overload a key area through sheer numbers and top tier equipment. They usually attempt to get in as close a proximity as possible.
I tried using a Rail Rifle with mixed results as it still left me a prime target of snipers, scouts, strafers and Scrambler Rifles.
What was needed was a weapon that could easily control a crowed at any distance. A weapon that would punish people that stood in a group.
Enter the Mass Driver. It is the type of weapon to get rid of a heavy, his logi and pet scout all in one magazine. Love it.
Put your flags up in the sky.
And wave them side to side.

Man...the stomp threads went through the roof this event...
I'm seeing MD abundant in AMB because of the event though. Looks glorious. Beast Squad all running MD and PLC is not a force to be reckoned with. Even MD scout. Extremely effective against PRO hordes, but something needs to be done about those Sentinel resistances...
Please buff my Magsex. It doesn't hit hard enough...

I generally give them hell with my Mass Driver and then rush them with an SMG and end them with a Myofibril ladended fist to the face.

Agreed. You might get more assists than kills but it effectively makes you a shield eraser. No Caldari will make it out alive.

Not just in pubs to curb protostompers, but I've been seeing a lot of mass drivers in pc as well. It's an amazing weapon especially if they're all grouped up at an objective. But we should keep it quiet because next everyone will be doing it, then everyone will be crying about it, then the nerf bat will come...

scouts-mass driver

commandos-knives
logistics-knives
I would never choose the mass driver over a rifle, but in the case of a strafing scout, i would.

you are interesting..you have all 5 dropsuits proto'd in minmitar (good work), a caldari and amarr suit but not ONE gallante suit!?!? Your character is gallante!

I was all specced into gallente suits at one point, when 1.8 hit and they refunded our dropsuit sp I decided to go all minmatar
However..... I am only about 200k sp away from gal assault gk.o so I can sport that sexy rattatis modified assault.

I highly doubt that you will kill a proper sentinel with a full clip from the massdriver. Unless each shot is a direct hit he will waddle up to you and mow you down with his HMG. Its a decent weapon on gal. logis who perma scan around to pick up scouts on scans. Once that happends shot the scout 2-3 times and he falls over dead and no strafing in the world will save him.
Bright is the opposite of dark! Who would have thought of that?!

Beware the squad of Corrosive Synergy. You have six ADV-STD mass drivers all shooting at you all at the same time. Direct hit is 300~, six direct hits is 1800 damage. Now. We don't all have perfect aim. Splash damage is 150, times six, times another six rounds, 5400 damage. No one survives.

Ha, I saw a squad, or at least a half squad of you guys in a bush last night doing just that. I think I remember seeing beast and playstion and i forget who else all raining down mass driver rounds on red dots so I tossed ya a hive and broke out the quafe md and joined in the fun. If I were looking for a corp I would check you guys out just for your love of mass drivers. However I am not.

That was us alright! We had BEAST, Playstation, Henrietta, me, and some other corp guys. What's funny is, most people with a MD stay in the back as support. What we did was run up really close. Normally, we would not charge a proto assault with a Six Kin ACR. Yet, with six mass drivers all flying in his face, it works. He panics, too many shots and booms around him, he can't aim. And then he's dead.

Haha been using mass drivers forever. With level 5 proficiency, I one shot most scouts. Even proto scouts. And easily can beat a heavy rushing towards me. Very underrated weapon. My second favorite after the combat rifle |
