It sounds to me like you are doing the same thing people do in sports, and try to compare players of different generations to one another.
It is impossible to say how these newer players would fair against some of the older ones. I am sure some would flounder, but I am also sure some would surprise you and hold their own.
While I understand have some respect and deference for some of the original players, I think it is quite uncalled for to do so at the expense of some of the newer players that show some skill. I think it a bit egotistical.

If you are using myself as a measuring stick, I am afraid you are using the wrong device.
I can die to Cubs just as easily as I die to Militia Assaults and Heavies.
Its not hard to kill a 200 HP scout that can't defend himself once spotted, especially when he mostly carries NKs, Flaylocks, and PLCs.

Now there are a lot of players who have taken these titles. It's hard to say something like that without offending people, but it's the truth. Most of the guys running the show now-a-days are....scrubby and nooby. Arrogant and have forgotten where they came from and what real competition is.
Just don't know how else to explain it. I miss the Djinn's...I miss Regnum, I miss Cubs....I miss Snugglz, The Legend, Bobthe843CakeMan, Annie Oakley, Calamity Jane, all the old guys. Missing Chromosome period.

I think there's probably a lot of players that are just as good as the legends of the past. I think there's just a different mindset overall in Dust.
Back in the day it was more common for people to be in squads. People had corporation battles and the legendary players were in a handful of corps that eventually controlled MH.
There's never been a group come from obscurity to make a big dent at the highest levels of Dust. There are very few groups even attempting it anymore. I don't think Kalante would be nearly as known if he'd been some random dude that you'd run into solo in an ambush once in a while.

What I really miss of old days are the great fights and wars we had. Alliances fighting each over taking control of enemies lands, flipping enemies out of PC and stuff like that. Now it looks like we are all friends...Hello kitty online has more anger in it.

Sh!tting on ADS's isnt a huge accomplishment right now. Min commando with Wyr. Swarms keeps the ADS to just fly bys instead of owning the air. |
