Hi Edgar! And, LOL, don't worry about looking like you're moaning about anything (many players in the forum do WAY more problematic things than that in their posts).
There ARE some user-biased advantages to selecting a MEDIUM suit, both at it's Basic versions, and in other circumstances at it's ADV/PROTO versions. But they all have to do with the player's motives. Not all of us "play" the game to shoot as much as we can and raise our Kill-rank. Not all of us do "support" work in ways that make a Logi or Scout biased suit work for us.
I just changed last night from using a Frontline-Mn suit (which is the "free" suit you get in your collection when you first play Dust--kind of a Militia Assault suit)---and I replaced it with a Basic Medium-Mn suit.

Since both suits are MInmatar, they are equally slotted wit High-slots, and equal in native HPs, shield, armour, etc.
When I fit both out with the same modules/items, the new Basic-Medium fit out costs me 15,000 ISK (because I can fit even the cheapest gear onto it), and the old Frontline Assault suit cost me 14,000 ISK (because it's a free suit).
But I only use this suit for experimenting with new modules, ONE module at a time, and the Basic-Medium suit gives me ONE Low-slot that the old Militia Assault suit just doesn't have. So now, Regulators, CPUs, Power Mods, Ferroscale plates, etc can be introduced to my suit experiments, with only a 1K increase in costs.
The experimenting is what enables certain players to find out they need a suit that has near-equal amounts of Low and High slots (or a Caldari suit with max Low slots, or an Amarr suit with lots of High slots)---and the "Medium" suits tend to offer this as you get into higher and higher tier Med-suits.
If it's a weird, custom fit-out you'r looking for, for an unusual Dust "role" (some player have invented some pretty "wild" roles, good for them ), the Medium is surprisingly a rare benefit.
