Since they don't, horizontal speed has nothing to do with vertical displacement in this instance.
A car going faster off of a ramp will go higher and farther since it is angled where the horizontal movement now is angled upward, adding more kinetic energy to vertical movement. However, a merc's jump height has nothing to make it go at an angle, so no horizontal movement is transferred to vertical movement. So, in conclusion, kincats only affect jump distance, but not height.
