Even if you had to take dust down for like 2 months it'd still be worth it.. Dusts potential is too great to leave it on PS3.. You did what you could with this system but it's time to move on to the next gen..Less lag and frame rate issues, bigger battles, better terrain and graphics, if it gets big enough you could combine all the maps into 1..There's not a lot of good games on ps4 so now would be a great chance to take advantage of that and get more players

As much as many of us wish this would happen, it just won't. CCP is too set in their ways. No amount of Ps4 port threads will change that.

Well they could add some code and make it crossplatform. They already let eve piolets talk. They could slowly transfer it to the ps4. The characters are stored on their servers. It would be a big update but the ps3 clientele is eventually going to disapear. Tho they are more likely to make it a pc game. No contract with sony that way. |

Both PS4 and XBOX.
Pit the fanboys against each other and let the momentum carry you to mainstream.
But continue to develop as much as possible until then to have the best launch point on the next version.
EDIT: Also, you would absolutely capitalize on the complete absence of good next gen games. This window won't last forever, good games will eventually come out. Get INB4!

Will never happen. Microsoft doesn't allow games on XBox to cross play with other platforms. This is why Dust was not on the 360, CCP offered, Microsoft demanded exclusive access, so CCP said screw you and went with Sony instead.

Are this Eve players really that dense? Dust 514 was created to bring the Eve Universe with all its rich lore and deep gameplay mechanics into consoles un a familiar genre for consoles.
Making Dust/Legion PC only brakes that. Especially the idea of making Dust and Eve under the same launcher is just stupid.
Like I have said in earlier posts. The game WILL die in PC. PC a lot of better F2P games. Dust/Legion will offer mostly nothing to Eve still outside of FW. And even still.
CCP and the playerbase will have to deal with hackers. Which means Dust/Legion would need a bigger team. And rhe playerbase would have to deal with those tricked out game mouses that lets you do anything in one palm.
Mix all that with the obvious and bound to happen Eve players will almost never play Dust unless a district of theirs is being attacked and the playerbase of Dust/Legion will be similar if not lower to what we have now.
Porting this game to PS4 seems like a more reasonable and better approach. The PS4 has a similar architecture to that of a PC. Meaning developing games is FAR more easier on a PS4 than a PS3. Which is why we are seeing a lot of indie games being released to the PS4. Not only that but console life spam is that of 8-10 years before the next new generation comes. Giving CCP more than enough time to plan porting Dust/Legion to the next Playstation. If they plan letting Dust and Eve live for that long.
I know that you need a PS+ subscription to play online on PS4. But that's it. Only to play online. And that's for the AAA titles like CoD, BF, Destiny. Games like that. You can still access your online functionalities on PS4 without needing a PS+ membership and the PS4's F2P requires no PS+ subscription. Games like Planetside 2, WarFrame, War Thunder, Blacklight you don't need a PS+ subscription to play those. CCP can greatly benefit from that seeing as if people that do not want or are too poor to play for a PS+ subscription, they can simply download Dust/Legion on the PS4 and have at it for free.
Not to mention PS4's Twitch streaming capabilities is basically free publicity for Dust/Legion.

If Dust goes PC, I'd rather play Star Citizen instead... Let's face it, you probably need a decent PC to play Legion. If I have to upgrade anyway (my rig plays SC with very low framerates) I'll not be too tempted to run Legion on it. Star Citizen will have much more content to discover and it will have FPS on the ground and on spaceships....
If Dust/Legion stays on console however, I'd probably stay a happy camper... No money from me until console future is confirmed btw... |

Not really, since I will stay in the console camp anyway (family) so a gaming PC is more of a luxury than anything... SC is however looking interesting enough to play it on a PC... Legion is not!

I think if CCP came out with a clear plan to bring this game to PS4 people would invest and spend more money on the game
Legion was (is?) a mistake. Trying to create a whole new experience seems to have gone no where and the lack of communication has done more to erode confidence that this game has a lifespan past the PS3.
If CCP could pull off PS3/PS4 crossplay and then sunset the PS3 over time it would put Dust in a truly unique place in the market.
As we see more and more of our friends move to next gen though we are left wondering if our time and monetary investments in the New Eden FPS are going to amount to anything or disappear quietly in the dark as the PS3 reaches the end of it's lifespan.

Is this all console gamers can say bad about PC? CCP has been doing Eve Online for like 10 years now and not had any major hacking issues.
Tricked out game mouses? You mean the ones with high DPI and a few programmable buttons? How ever will a gamer come to own a gaming mouse? Oh wait $20 on amazon......
PS4s twitch streaming SUCKS. The quality is lackluster at best. Few options for editing your stream only add to the reasons it is no good. PC on the other hand gives many options on how you want to stream with plenty of ability to make your stream your own.
Give up on console.

But to say that PS4 is "outdated" is a bit of a stretch. Remember that the PS4 can produce the results it gets because it's not running a general purpose OS, and it has standardized hardware. An identically specced PS4 vs PC battle, the PS4 will win due to those factors.
In my ideal world Dust would coexist on both PC and PS4 following a development/maturation sprint on PC.

Progression to PS4 is the logical step from PS3. Even if PC is the superior system, it is far easier to expect PS3 users to buy a PS4 rather than buy a PC. Porting to PC would be a giant "F**k You" to a massive portion of the current playerbase, and that's just wrong.
Now PC and PS4? That would be legit, but if it has to be one or the other, it should be PS4.

Actually it is fair. The install base for the PS4 is growing rapidly and the concurrent users for PS3 is shrinking rapidly.
Now, it may not be pleasant for you, but fair? Completely.
If it were up to me I'd have the game running on both systems with certain game modes only available on PS4, however.

Considering they're going to stop production of PS3 this year I believe, its safe to say PS3 is on its dying breath. Dual support for some time would be nice, but the game has to migrate OFF of PS3 at some point, otherwise it'll hold back future development.

Many players, myself included, pretty much use their PS3 for Dust alone....as much as I love the game its hard to justify buying another PS3 when this one dies, simply to play Dust.
