Just thinking, if people wanted to leave the proto-tank stompage behind, we could just spam the academy with new characters and pew pew each other to the death.
If we can get enough people interested in this idea, I would possibly start helping again.
To anyone saying "Nooo, the new players will be..." There are no new players in there, it's half empty and they'll learn more playing against other people in freebie gear, than running slowly to an objective, hacking it and waiting 10 minutes for the game to end anyway...

It includes public contracts, FW, and PC matches, so I would naturally assume the Academy counts as well. "Only clones actually destroyed are counted in public contracts" http://dust514.com/events/mcc5 Yes, your quote is accurate. However, the next line states that friendly fire deaths do not count towards the total. This is interesting, seeing as how there is no friendly fire in public contracts, only in FW and PC. So, if the second rule is in fact relevant, perhaps the first is worded Ina rather misleading fashion. CCP may be trying to simply specify that only terminated clones are counted, so reviving a downed clone and then killing them again will only count as one death towards the total. Mentioning friendly fire either means FW and PC are included, or it is completely irrelevant and confusing. By the same token, if the first rule is either poorly worded of misleading. Earlier in Frame's post he mentions that every clone terminated in New Eden will count towards the total, which could even read as including Eve pilot deaths. No matter what, it is definitely rather contradictory.
It could mean things like, crashing an LAV, getting squashed by your dropship... Or even hitting the "suicide" option... All very do-able in public matches.
So the big question becomes, does the Academy count as a public contract? |

CommanderBolt wrote:Have you or anyone else considered setting up a simple Red Vs Blue war? Have 2 corps made, fill them full of everyone you can in the academy, hell even invite new players and then sync up and against each other?
I was thinking more along the lines of just a chat group. People can join and leave as they please, with large enough groups of people all deciding when to sync into the battles. Random solo teams with everyone ignoring the objective and choosing some spot in the middle of the map to go all WW1 at each other, just climb over and run screaming and shooting into the enemy fire. |
