Why? Is their a 20Sec time limit if you go over the Redline?
It should be 5Secs or 8Secs, not 20Secs.
20Secs limit just allows base campers to run in your base kill you then runs off & survives. The whole point of the Redline is to not let them do that, it's annoying & promote bad gameplay behaviour.
I've never played a FPS that lets you run in the redline for 20secs, after many times of my team getting base camped i always said to myself "Why!?... Why allow this to happen!?..."
Regardless in any situation you shouldn't go past the Redline whether you're using a vehicle or on foot, just putting 20secs on the Redline isn't punishing players for their mistakes it encourages them & i've seen enough of bad gameplay behaviour in this game that aren't being punished. (e.g Mass Driver roof campers or roof campers in general)
CCP needs to change this pronto... |

You make a good point. With the 20 second timer, too much redline camping occurs & I think the game would be better with a shorter redline timer.
On a related note, I'd like to see a friendly redline timer of 1 minute upon spawn, then 20 seconds thereafter -- to fight redline sniping and redline tanking and, frankly, entire teams not trying once redlined. |

The redline mechanics have always been rather flawed, and never really worked as intended. But just for the sake of argument, is it possible that the real problem is not the redline itself, but matches that are so imbalanced that one team ends up getting pushed that far back at all? Ideally the fighting would take place out among the objectives as opposed to with one team's back against the wall.

The less redline timer there is, the MORE people will redline camp, because it becomes that much harder to dislodge them.

Would you rather get killed by someone sneaking into your base & killed you with Remote Explosives or getting shot afar where the Redline is?
& how the heck would 5Sec Redline time be hard for them to be dislodged?
As long the enemy is at Redline, we can maneuver around our base to find alternatives to push them back.
Other side the story is, if their were a 20sec Redline timer, it'll allow the base campers move around our base, killing us all & not being able to freely move around our base finding alternatives to push them back. |

enemys lingering on the redline should be shot by mordecai and carried off by bloodwing
