I have enough Sp to skill into the PLC and have been contemplating whether I should do it or not. If I do skill into it,anyone can give me advice on the art of PLC? it looks like it will be a fun weapon to play around with

It's a good AV weapon, especially against shield-based tanks, and can also be used to one-shot heavies with a direct hit.

Its also good to use as an alpha strike weapon. Even if you miss a good chance is the splash is gonna strip your targets shields then you can nail them with your side arm, smgs are very nasty vs armor

Do it. It is fun. It's both difficult and rewarding. I still whoop every time I get a kill. Skill up reload speed as a priority. Imho works best with Gal commando, altho I understand a scout works well too. If you like Pyrex, he has done quite a few vids with a plc on a scoot fit. I like to use it best when reds lateral movement is restricted in a "corridor" as the plasma ball can be side-steeped. |

Skill it to lvl 1-3 and play using it. Didn't you think about that?
Ps. Asking about how to use ceratin gun is pointless. Play with it and you'll know how it does work.

Can't hurt to get some tips right? some pointers to start with perhaps. Would be nice if I can get these without hostility

Shoot where the target will be [at range] At closer distance shoot closer to the target. Overall, practise. The key is to feel the flight trajectory of the bullet [plasma shot].
See? I'm friendly and i'm helpful from time to time

I use dual plc on galmando and it is actually quite effective!
Learn to find good timings using curves. There's a little lag that you have to manage when shooting on moving targets (shoot a bit in front of them). If you go against multiple enemies, always focus the one who stands still (if there's one), or the most dangerous one.
Rush only with your teamates, and try to stay on high grounds, it considerably helps!
Rise? That's what they used to call me. Sequal Rise. That was my name.

One does not use the Plasma Cannon.
The Plasma Cannon uses you as a platform to get closer to enemies and kill them. |

Maybe a Caldari commando. Most sentinels will survive a direct plc blast with enough time to get you with the death hose. If you are going to take on a heavy, especially one with a logi, open with a flux or be prepared to switch to a side arm immediately after firing. |

Run a good sidearm or a mando. Use it to open engangements on unaware targets. If you've been jumped stay calm and learn how to lead different targets. Fstties require less lead. Assaults require a bit. Scouts, don't even bother. Aim for their feet because few scouts shields can survive the splash damage.
Sidearms are really important. Make sure you can use it well. NO I REPEAT NO NOVA KNIVES UNLESS YOU ARE A MINJA. Plasma cannon nova knife is only good on them due to their speed.
Just shoot it. A lot . In cities when you are alone practice by picking targets or possible paths enemies can take and practice aiming and shooting .
Vehicles are harder than infantry. Your easiest target is an unaware cluster of reds. Next is the unaware tank. Then sentinel. Then logisticia. Then scout. Commandos and assaults will wreck your plasma if they are even half decent at somewhat aware of your weakness.( primary weapon is a one hit wonder)
The closer your target the better. Long range sniping takes a lot more practice and requires hives. Did I mention hives ? Use them. A fully maxed plasma desnt need them but beginner would.
I know its a lot. Sorry. But I know how to plasma and love to share the knowledge I learned the hard way.
While slow to anger and occasionally indecisive, they are also capable of harnessing enormous resolve when truly tested.

Update: So as most people said,I have been using the militia Plc for sentinel hunting, never thought I'd see the day where I one shot sentinels. Well caldari sentinels, Amarr sentinels need a little push from my smg

the vertical line in the crosshair is your best friend
it tells you where the drop is
make it point down like a dagger at a stationary target and it will guide the glowing ball of death into its face
keep shooting and shooting while observing where the round hits in relation to the crosshair. Practice on rooftop campers, practice on snipers, practice on hacking redberries
Soon, you will become one with the fourth state of matter and reach the fourth state of awareness, an ionized zen where you will acquire stationary targets in a second and hit them directly on your first try every time |
