Lol. Fair enough, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
I am of the opinion that LP is much better spent on Proto gear in the loyalty store versus Apex suits, but to each their own.

It seems to happen quite a lot, in my experience. I see it more often than not when I play pubs. Not arguing that it's anywhere near game breaking (like the Logi LAV debacle), but it is quite common. It's a very effective way to offset the heavy suit's main drawback, it's lack of mobility, so it's no wonder it's popular.

Like being stuck in an open field and being unable to move and having to suicide. Happened to me once in one of the new maps haha
No suit can beat the sticky terrain. Terrain is super OP, always has been.
