I think it was leadfoot that suggested it. I got a wired splitfish and couldnt do squat with it. Ended up giving it away. I have never played PC games with a keyboard and mouse so I am new to this. Is the wireless one any different or should I not waste my money and just get a sixaxis?

If you're not good with KBM there's no reason to go to one of those devices.
FWIW, I've since moved on to a Aimon PS Elite. It's much better than the Splitfish/FragFX, which is better than native KBM, like this:
Aimon PS>FragFX>native KBM
I hear the XIM4 is even better, but I've not yet set mine up -- I'm too busy having fun playing! :)
But if you're not a MKB guy at heart (I am a PC gamer with zero DS3 thumb skills -- my thumbs have been doing nothing but hiiting the spacebar for 30 years, it's far too late to retrain them), I don't think you should look to a MKB for any benefit outside of tanking or sniping or perhaps forging -- virtually all other roles I'd suggest you stick with what you have been playing with.
If I were you, I'd just get the DS3/sixaxis. |

Well I will get the Aimon and return it if I cant use it. My generic ps3 controller is at the end of its road, I cant sprint or shoot sometimes haha

If you ever want to fly, you'll want to keep a DS3 around.
Flying is completely impossible with any of these devices. Imagine unicycling on ice. lol |

I'm old..lol, and was a pc fps player until my conversion in 2009. get a ds3 and a fun game my game was Gran Turismo and use your thumbs. Don't give up because VR Morpheus or Oculus really need to be paired with a controller.

I will get a generic weird ps3 controller. I have died more than a few teams from running out a battery. I will just have both. Practiced with the mouse controller, if I cant get a hang of it by the return window, I will just have to return it

I find the mouse sensitivity on unreal engine games a little too high, so be mindful of that. You might want a gaming mouse, so you can change the dpi, or tracking or whatever
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck...

smart, just don't be tempted by the ps4 controllers they have issues.

1. Try use KBM & mouse hardware emulators.
+ any mouse (cheap too)
+ much more custom setings - not only CCP layout ;)
- sometimes unexpected mause frezes (mybe just me)
2. Flying with KBM & mouse i spossible. Landing is harsh ;)
(I got recomedation from native DS pilot)
3. OCULUS + KBM + mouse - easy, you can trust me

Then you didn't play PC shooters [lobby types, where gun game means everything], ok.
Buy any cheap mouse with adjustable dpi [normal mouse in Dust won't be as precise as you want] and play few games with it. Then another few etc. The key is to find your sensitivity so it'll comfortable and precise for you.
Overall m&kb > controller , but m&kb ruins the experience of couch console shooter. Which Dust is.
