Don't forget to double tap.
Yes, double tap all red horizontal mercs.
It is indeed the proper and polite way to behave, not just during the event, but a good habit to acquire going forward.
This will thwart all needle trolls.

The thing is, with today's mechanics, needle trolls can't actually rezz without someone deliberately calling for them, unlike last event, but good advice nevertheless....
I always terminate my opposition though if I can spare the moment.

Good point!
FWIW, I try to always clear the area to be safe enough to double-tap....as it sucks to look down to double-tap only to be shot by another enemy. |

More tips:
Flux grenades! They're easy to fit, cheap (standard is more than good enough for most applications), reliable (locus nade users jelly of dat geometry penetration), versatile, and for some reason terminate clones! Toss a flux at that downed protosuit and laugh as he is mercilessly electrocuted due to his suit's breached electrical insulation!
Flaylock pistols! An inexpensive sidearm that both terminates clones on kill AND transforms double tapping from a tedious chore into a fun game of corpse hacky sack!
Remotes! Drop a RE on that downed enemy and wait for him to call for help, three kills for the price of one!
And remember, as always, there won't be anything left to double tap if you hit them with a plasma cannon / forge gun / mass driver |
