I remember one time and I'm being honest on this but It took place during Uprising 1.7 and I was in a Dom and I saw this Red dot so I kept firing him with my Assault Rifle and out of no where I died because it over heated = o_0
I've only experienced this ONCE.
Could it of been a bug, possibly.
Has anyone experienced this before ?

I think I read somewhere that the AR actually has heat build-up, but there's no HUD meter for it.
I could be wrong.

Pretty much everything has heat buildup per the SDE, but few have enough to overheat in conjunction with ammo, rof, etc and/or actually have it enabled.

It's possible to overheat the AR, just very difficult.
You can do it by permafiring some of the officer rifles or constantly firing/reloading/firing for full cycles with a normal one.
Anything that can be exploited will be exploited.

Slightly off topic, but what if they changed assault rifles to do damage that increased proportionally to the amount of heat generated? It would make sense, as the heat is what gives the plasma round their... heat

I run XP so Visual Studio doesn't support my computer and that's really annoying cause my prof used it and I have no idea how to run the C++ I'm coding.

Try downloading an older build of visual studio! That's what i did for my XP when i picked up VB.
VB you cannot run a timer in a thread and have a loop at the same time. The timer freezes
Since C# is VB + C i think it'll happen there too. Just a heads up.
Saw you said downloaded a different version...
Did you try visual studio 2008?

Run that in command prompt!
start in notepad and save it as .cpp
Head over to the command prompt and this is what you do
cl /EHsc < name >.cpp
It is compiled and could be run in the command prompt (well... Thats what the website says https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms235639.aspx )

So...do you actually need help with VS? I've been using it for a few years now, but I've never encountered a problem like that.
Do you absolutely HAVE TO use Visual Studio? I would recommend NetBeans or Eclipse for beginners, with NetBeans being my personal preference. Visual Studio tends to be very picky about how all of its project files are arranged and has a bunch of arbitrary VS specific things that it freaks out without. Eclipse can be the same way about directories, but it's a bit simpler.
If you can use a different IDE, go here and click the download button under the C/C++ column. NetBeans is much easier for beginners, and I also find its debugging features to be a bit more intuitive and user friendly.
EDIT: If you do manage to get Visual Studio working, go to: Tools > Options > General > Color Theme > Dark. You'll (probably) thank me later. |
