Whats the best race, class, modules, weapons etc? I like to be stealthy andcannot ll people. Also any advice to start off would be appreciated. I haven't spend my unollocated sp yet. There are only two true ways to play. You have played EVE, so that must mean you are familiar with the term "Welcome to New Edin", yes? seeing how you have just started out, you really only have one choice until you can get enough skill points.
Embrace it, embrace the stomp for this is the cycle of DUST. You are a vital food source for veteran players, they cannot thrive without you. Do not let these people lie to you, they are blind to how it all really works. You mustn't resist, you cannot fight it, you must embrace the stomp and only then can you reap the true benefits. Come with me, and your isk pay out will be higher, you will compleat more daily missions, you will be victorious in more then half your battles. Relinquish your notion of KDR and come with me, i will show you the truth. |

Give your controller an otterbox. That **** will be swung through a wall if you're not careful. Heck Ghandi would probably rage after getting completely stomped in an ambush, smart spawn is **** and will not spawn your team elsewhere until they have gotten killed 40+times...
Best advice: Join a corp(If i remember correctly a good newbie corp was Dust University, or something like that, theres probably others just look around), some corp members will eventually invite you to squad up with them, don't be shy squad up. Running solo in this game is the best way to rage. Stay away from ambush for a while, atleast until 1-2 mill sp. Dont forget to remember my Dust motto, "Any one who kills me isn't better than me, they are just cheaters and they probably eat ass."
If you want to be stealthy get a scout(not amarr), get your core skills up, get your dampners and precision enhancers. Ask your corp for the rest.
I'm not gonna say that "Welcome to New Eden" stuff though. Welcome to your first step to a mental institute.
Edit: Stay your ass out of the red line. Please and thank you |

Easiest way to get isk/SP to help start you off is to be a basic min logi with a proto rep tool. you can pull in 200-300k isk an ambush match and about 5-10k sp. run that while you build up skills and money for what you really wanna do and you can build a nice supply of fitings up.
is you have some spare rl cash think about getting the Merc pack for -ú16/$20 and use the AUR to buy a diff BPO (pref sever or brutor logi) and perhaps some of the militia module BPOs you could get armour plates, armour rep and shield extender for less than 15k AUR along with the dragonfly suit and the logi BPO you're pretty much fully setup.
Never argue with an idiot. they bring you down to their level and beat you through experience

I'd recommend Gal Assault and AR (lots of variants so the SP is good bang for the buck).
Armor skills first. Then fitting skills as needed. I think armor playstyles are more forgiving and you are likely to get reps from a nearby logi.
I'd get the suit up to L3, Armor upgrades, plates, and reps to L5. Then get your AR to Proficiency 3.
Then handheld weapon operation to L3 for damage mods.
Then Nanocircuitry to L3
Then Shield upgrades to L5
I'd stick with cheap suits until you've got at least 20 mil ISK saved up.
Joining a corp that's active on comms is a must. |

PurseLuv wrote:you guys are hilarious! I figured my name would be a throwoff that I'm a girl I'm just a casual gamer. I don't intend on playing this very much unless I like it. I use to play a lot of Halo and Call of Duty but they have gotten soooooo boring after the years. There's like so much information here to qoute everyone! But I have read all the advice and I am grateful for the help! <3 So skill into core upgrades, electronics, engineering, armor upgrades and shield upgrades first... Keep trying out starter fits to save isk and accumulate sp... Don't join Duna... unless this is some sort of a mean joke??? I donno start by getting my armor and shield upgrades to 3... Join postapo wastelander's corp... you guys are nice for wanting me... I can't really say i'll be any help though -_- until I get better Survival first, kills 2nd... In all honesty, this is quite overwhelming but I will try my best to follow everyone's advice!! TY That wasn't a joke don't join Duna -_-

PurseLuv wrote:whoooo you guys are sooo awesome! Lots of advice :) too much for my head! Uhmm I just don't know where to start actually. Especially where to invest my sp. I don't want to make a mistake and regret it -_-
Also, what corp would accept a newbie? :( Biggest thing is your core skills for the suit such as PG, CPU, scan profile. But like the others said play with militia suits and fittings. It will make it easier to find the suit type, weapon and play style you like. |

ps. Thx for all of the advice friendly people! Logis are the support class.
Equipment has Bandwidth (BW), which is sort of a usage cost. So if I have a suit with 1 BW, and an item costs 2, when I place the item in the field, it immediately fizzles out.
Logis have the most BW, and are able to use the most pieces of EQ. By and large, they also have the most EQ slots.
Dust University is an EXCELLENT corp for beginners. That is all they exist for, training new players.
It takes many weeks and months to learn this game, so don't be too hard on yourself. And since it is always changing, and there are so many roles, you never really stop learning.
Apex suits are essentially an infinitely renewable suit for a one time cost. Its good for making ISK without the sacrifice of traditional suits.
