Ghost Kaisar's Mercenary Log
May 27th, 2013
With a blast of air, my clone emerges from the Vat. I take a few minutes to see how the body responds. Function seems normal. Staggering out, I come into my Merc Quarters, and don my dropsuit.
The AI in my room keeps telling me to join the academy, but I have bigger issues on hand. A friend had me make this transfer to merc life with the intent of me joining his corp. I quickly join Attempted Murderz for Hire, and start my career as a mercenary.

AMfH has merged with some other corps to form Intrepidus XI. Merc life is difficult. I decided to specialize in a scout suit, favoring speed and stealth over offensive power. However, Tactical Assault rifles melt through my meager defenses with ease, and its almost impossible to slay a Caldari Logistics suit with anything less than a 1 shot surprise attack.
Gaining SP slowly. Raging at my apparent helplessness. I will not give up however.

IXI has joined EoN, along with Ahrendee. They're old friends, and the Alliance is at war. I'm barely able to run the Proto Suits for PC, and end up having to donate a lot of ISK to the corp to fund PC. It's worth it however. My merc is getting stronger and stronger. I can hold my own against prototype players if I make the right moves. PC is still a gigantic struggle, as Fused Locus Nades and Core Flaylocks destroy my scout in very little time.
I need to get better at flanking and scouting. Learning that damps are far more important than speed on the Min Scout. SMG and NK are becoming my go-to weapons for fighting. Really wish I had a cloak.

The war is long over. My corp has moved on, their clones still sitting in their quarters, not moving, immobile.
I weep for my lost friends. However, I am still here. I've decided to join Pradox One as their PC adviser, relying on my experience in the past war, and the EoN name to add credibillity.
My Merc is able to run proto easily. Funding it is a difficulty however. I have become more experienced in PC, and am easily able to make it onto teams now. Simply X'ing up is enough to get in.
Hopefully this corp is a place that I can call home.

My how this game has changed. Builds come and go. FoTM swings back and forth. However, I'm content to stay as my scout for now. The fights in that suit are difficult and challenging, and keeps me on top of my game.
The scout community is going strong, with several new friends made in there. Pradox has merged into Proficiency V alliance with OH, after Raun discussed the opportunity with me. OH has always been a strong corp, they'll do well there.
An old scout friend needs instructors for his scout training corp. I've decided to take a break from PC, and decide to join R0N1N to help.
Farewell Pradox. Hope you guys do well in the future.

Christmas EVE comes with new presents it seems. I had wanted to get back into PC after my time in R0N1N, especially as the members dwindled and moved on. After trying a few other corps, I found myself in a squad with Kardia Scorpio, the CEO of Titans of Pheonix, a budding PC corp. After playing a few matches with them, they invited me to join, which I gladly did.
The guys here are great, and the squads are smart. I think I've found a home.

Our CEO was nowhere to be seen. The corp slowly collapsed, with the members seeming unable to continue without leadership. I once again set out to find a new home. I was sad, I had a lot of friends in ToP.
I was then contacted by a friend from ToP, and joined a squad with a few other old friends I had met during my career. I played a few matches with Frost Kitty (one of those old friends) and a man I had never met before, Zatara Raught.
The squad meshed perfectly, running around, holding objectives and slaying like crazy. They mentioned that a lot of ToP had joined Fatal Absolution in Kardia's absence. Looking at the squad around me, I made up my mind.
I would join Fatal Absolution.

Has it already been a year? It's hard to believe how time has flown. How the mighty have risen and fallen, and come back again.
FA proved to be the home I was looking for, with good friends and fights abound. We made a name for ourselves in PC, fighting many wars and losing battles, while also winning land and gaining and losing friends.
Over time, I became a director. Someone trusted to help run the corp, and expected to show up to PC's.
ISK hasn't been an issue at all in the last year. PC's pay well, and running with squads means that you don't die much, no matter what you run. I run a mix of STD, ADV, and PRO gear, depending on how hard we have to carry that battle.
Sadly, a lot of my original friends in FA have either moved to other corps or other games. Zatara hasn't been seen in awhile. Frost joined a corp so he could ring outside of alliance. TTW and Lags both have disappeared.
But this isn't the end. I've found my home, and I'll never leave. After a spate of inactivity, I came back to see a fair number of the OG FA chilling and killing like usual. We fight, we win, and we lose. We recruit and and wave farewell to old and new friends as people come and go.
Nobody said the life of a merc was easy, or for everyone. It takes a certain type of personality, one who isn't daunted by the possibility of failure. One that has the audacity to fight even when they know they will win.
This is what makes a mercenary stronger. Adversity. Difficulty.
And after you climb on top? You start to wonder why not many others have made it up here. And then you spend your time and ISK trying to help them when you can.
That being said, you're still a mercenary. There is no mercy at the end of my rifle, Only for those who stand beside him.
Born Deteis Caldari. Rejected by my Kinsman.
Found a new family in the Vherokior Tribe.
