So I've grown tired of trying to lock on to a guy on low HP who keeps zigzagging through a crowd of blueberries on full HP...
This new reptool I have in mind would only be able to lock onto people with damaged armor (under 100%).
The fair drawback of this reptool is that it does not stay locked on to a full-HP suit. As soon as the suit is fully repaired, it loses the lock-on, thus you won't be able to get any Guardian WP bonuses.
It would have no lock on/off delay when changing targets, making it easier to repair a crowd of people.
What do you think about this? Discuss.

Hmmmm interesting. Perhaps have a lower rep rate but more lockable targets so it's good at doing light maintenance to groups friendlies on the go?

I'd say, if anything, it needs a higher rep rate. But regardless of reprate, its a good idea. Good for a logi in a squad of assaults. |

Make several of them.
One for repairing only individuals and one for repairing only vehicles.
Make two levels of them one level 2 and one level 4.
The low level ones will allow newbies to get the idea of how to use repair tools, while the higher level ones will work as suggested in the initial post.
The repair vehicles only variants would conceivably become a mainstay of vehicle driver fittings.
Thanks for reading this. |

Sounds good.
I can see many people fighting this as it would make a group of heavies a little more powerful in their eyes. |

If you find that helpful then by all means.
However this goes against my ethos all together. I much prefer having to have the skill, dexterity and patience to pick out that individual to receive the full benefit, rather than have some (probably broken CCP style) auto rep locking mechanism with drawbacks.

Fine, use the regular reptool, nobody's forcing you...

Of course, I also said by all means if it helps. I just don't think it would be quite as useful as you suspect given ~CCP coding~.

I'm sure they could make it work properly, given enough time.
