The problem with the current payout system is that it offers little incentive to push back when your team is losing. In Domination if you lose the point early and half your team decides that sniping will help get it back you know you've already lost and so why push the point.
Therefore I would like to suggest the a payout system that rewards the winning team with a low variation of 20% between the top and bottom players (with the same AFK penalties) and rewards the losing team on a much higher sliding scale, with the top 6 players claiming over 70% of the payout pool.
This would encourage people to still push on (high isk reward), dissuade people camping in the redline when your team is losing (low isk), dissuade proto stomping (lower isk) whilst still rewarding low SP roles for the winning side.
[Example] Total Payout 10,000,000 ISK, split 2:1 between the winners and losers

No. Unless its +25000 for every hundred wp, no matter if you lose/win. Your current proposal does not reward new players. Also, 450k for top is pretty low I believe it should be based on assets lost by you +isk/wp |

The first two posts here are excellent, in my opinion. Wait, NOT because I agree with either one of you,GǪ but because your point of view about using ISK to keep a Pub Contract game motivated is something we need to discuss a lot more than we have so far.
I personally don't prefer Public Contract match of any kind to get too demanding about "winning this match" (I believe players ought to progress into the win-mentality only when they show a committed interest in getting deeper into Dust, the FW's, the Planet-Conquest corps play----the game needs to leave Pubs comfy for all small frye and casual players).
But you are both right---ISK is one of the ways we should be players to WIN, not to LOSE, and that third category you're talking about, "NOT GIVING UP JUST FROM MID-MATCH INJURY".
Kudos for posting this, Juno.

If you're coming 12the on the losing side chances are you're a new player and will be benefiting from the eom salvage.
This incentivises vets to keep pushing and help carry the newbros

Even at top of the board with 2500 WP I cap out at 260k ish.
450k for pubs would be an improvement

I like your idea. The fact that - before WP - the best player on the losing side is rewarded similarly to the best player on the winning side is a great incentive to "carry the team" as they say.
On the other hand I don't think being the worst player on the winning team is much reason for reward. That just means that you've been carried. Crafty individuals could use this and stay mostly inactive during winning matches and leave losing matches early, thus maximize their profit.
From you suggestion I take away the concept that, regardless of whether you've won or not, effort should be rewarded. This ultimately hinges on two concepts: - WP need to accurately measure effort. This is - in the broadest sense - already the case. Almost all playing styles can earn good WPs for their effort. In detail there're many things left to be improved (Yes, I'm looking at you, repairtool.) - People need to be put into matches where their effort actually has an effect. This is the main reason why WP fall flat as a measure of effort once in a while. If my 0 SP alt gets into a one-sided match I have no way of earning WPs. There's nothing to hack inside the spawn area, people don't need ammo if they only last 30 seconds each spawn and actually killing something is almost illusory. |
