with the draconian strafe penalties not even Amarr sentinels want to use normal plates... surety I'm not the only one who takes issue with this.

Armor has every advantage in game.
Max HP, repping hives, logi reps, armor reppers with zero delay (unlike shields) the ability to use damage mods without sacrificing main tank.
But a movement penalty is too much for you?
Fine, then use ferroscales. They are easier to fit and still provide more hp than complex shield extenders with ZERO movement penalty.
The only real truth in history is that it was bloody.

I only use the basic plates for heavy suits.
But here's some advice. Just because it's complex doesn't mean you should fit it on your suit.
For Light suits only use the Basic plates or lesser plates For Medium suits you can use the Enhanced plates and lesser plates For Heavies you can use the Complex Plate and lesser plates (because of low module layout) and you're already cumbersome.
If you have a complex plate on a Medium and especially a Light Frame suit you are doing something not in the competitive category of DUST 514

I didn't say armor had better regen. I said it has zero delay unlike shields which has 5-8 secs delay and requires significant modules and ehp sacrafice to reduce this delay. Also 1 hp of damage resets the shield recharge delay wereas armor reps through damage.
And as I already pointed out shields have zero assistance with repping unlike armor which has multiple ways to be replenished.
And while shields can regen more per second after delay I can still get around 35hp a sec rep on my gal assault with still a decent amount of HP and zero delay.
And I will say it again, if you want maximum HP use plates, if you want zero movement penalties use ferroscales. You can't have both.
The only real truth in history is that it was bloody.

But with the Commando I try to use my already decent health as the base line and just try on improving my speed and armor regen.
Even though I personally don't have a use for reactive plates yet I still appreciate their existence in the game.

i only use 2 enhanced amrour plates with triple complex reps on my gk.o assault. ever since the starfe penatlties were introduced I still havnt noticed a change in both the way the suit operates and the way I play the suit. and at most iam loseing next to no speed as it is with just 2 plates.]
armour seems fine to me atm.

For me armor plates are very situational, I have different variants of several heavys. If I know I have a good logi and I'm going to be defending a point I'll roll out the big fat amarr sentinal stacked all the way with complex plates. I don't need to strafe I just stand there and eat faces on objective while my logi bro racks up the WP.
Hello? any one there?

Actually no, your spidey senses are wrong.
I run a speed tank min scout, gal scout and ARMOR gal assault most of the time. I used to run cal assault/cal scout but respected out of them a long time ago because shields are inferior to armor in every way.
