To pick up our conversation where we left off in game, I believe that fixing stomps will involve the following variables:
1. Give organized, top-tier players an outlet other than pubs. PC 2.0 and Raids are prime candidates, but we could also add to Fac War things like Team Deploy, decent Isk Payouts and EOM Barge Components payouts for victor. Better pay would attract a crowd which would ease presently long queues.
2. Give low-end players more time to incubate. This could be done by adding a higher graduation threshold to the current Academy, or by adding a post-graduate stage between Academy and General Population. I don't mean to imply that newbros are to blame for stomps (they aren't); rather, I believe we should keep them separate from veterans until they've had sufficient time to learn the ropes, get a decent gun and get hooked on Dust like we did.
3. Give Scotty better inputs to work with. I understand that some may disagree, but I believe the most efficient path to fewer lopsided/stomped matches involves squad size reduction from 6 to 4 for Public Contracts. The biggest complaint here is the "social element", but I believe this is handled by #1 above.

The squad change is an annoying must, want to run with six, play a harder mode that makes it a boon.
Leave the public for the public to have fun in I say.

meta lv 20 or less will fix it and good chance of bringing growth to game as it is needed so badly |

VALCORE72 wrote:meta lv 20 or less will fix it and good chance of bringing growth to game as it is needed so badly Say we kept everything as is but divided Public Contracts into Low Sec and High Sec. One offers better EOM payouts and permits higher end gear. The other pays less and is more restrictive on gear.
Concerns:
We have a loyal playerbase, but it is limited in number; partitioning public contract participants across 6 queues rather than 3 would very likely cause problems, especially during off-peak hours. Further, proto gear is not requisite stomping, and there would be nothing would prevent 500M SP stompsquads from stomping pubs in lower end gear.

Newbros should be given a season in the academy and released in batches to the general population (like every 4 months or something)
They'd be free to join their friends in the pros by squadding up but couldn't bring friends into the academy

The problem with FW is that not everyone in your group wants to fight for the same faction. Raiding has to be the way forward

I see a problem with meta locking...
It will literally be academy stomping. Just because you have equal gear DOES NOT mean you will be on equal terms.
Ah well, let's see how it turns out.

People do it now and they only get to play like 2-3 games before they need to make a new one and can get 30+ kills in one game.

Because they can consistently fight against those with only a couple of matches under their belt, this way there would be a much greater mix of abilities/experience

Upon further consideration I think it would be better if we were to increase the squad sizes to 8, and create separate ques for players who are and aren't in a squad.
That allows teams to be filled with entire squads without detracting from the social aspect of DUST, while also giving competitive players another outlet as they'll be fighting other competitive players. An added bonus is that it creates room for each squad to have 1 of each role, thus increasing the diversity of items seen in matches.

Guys, we need to stop calling MU a 'matchmaker' when it's actually a 'teambuilder'.
And I want to play FE:A now. Damn.
