Lol I love how people are starting to believe that this "MUST HAVE A PILOT SUIT TO DRIVE A VEHICLE" thing when Rattati hasn't even talked about them in the slightest.

Don't understand how a normal dropsuit will make it more difficult to figure out two pedals and a steering wheel, but whatever.

The whole pilot suit requirement to pilot anything is asinine. People are asking for it while ignoring other options which are far less restrictive.

Think of it more in this sense. Since one pilot operate the module use, driving, gunner, etc of the system I'd imagine rather than having all physical interfaces and pilot is partly linked to their vehicle. It's not exactly the same as the way capsuleers "become" their vessel but it allows the pilot to mentally operate systems that would require more than two hands.
In this sense the Pilot Dropsuit could be a light frame dropsuit that forgoes almost all personal defence technology like shield generations and plates in favour of mounting conductive weaves and processors that are designed to mnemonically trigger specific bits of information stream lining the process of the pilot having to operate the systems or even enhancing the out put of those systems by having pre-programmed algorithms sorted out by the suit rather than the pilot.
That doesn't mean you have to have one to use a vehicle but having one helps you pilot/operate more efficiently.

Pilot suits and interfacing with vehicles makes perfect sense for HaVs and dropships.
No sense for Lavs though. Anyone except heavies should be able to drive those. |

Godin Thekiller wrote:JLAV"s needs to die, period. I think collision damage needs to be fixed for LAVs, and that will subsequently fix RE-car-ies (get it? RE-car-ies? Like Harakiri, aka seppuku? No one? OkGǪ)
Currently LAVs just tap tanks and the explode, I think giving them more forgiving and tougher collision damage will make them harder to JLAV, while still keeping the tactic, making it a bit more "skill-intensive" to do.

Pilot suits should be mandatory for all covered seats in vehicles, where you can't be shot!
This means, all tank seats and the pilot seat of a Derpship.
LAVs however should be usable for all suits. One might be discussing if heavy suits should be restricted to gunner seats in LAVs and DS, but I think that's a little bit too much.
Pilot suits schould have rigging slots for vehicles, so you can put vehicle support modules in. These would influence cooldown or duration of active modules or increase efficiency of modules/weapons. |
