I would poke my head around the corner and get shot up a bit then run like hell to make them chase me,
once recharged I would commit suicide/ jump off a roof.
They would get no war points and I could send them an email how I simply do not understand

Just wait until they prevent people from joining matches that are almost over. That way, if you're getting pubstomped, and game is half done, just leave. If everyone does the same, the game will literally be empty as no new people will join and the stomping team will be running around an empty map. |

Just use BPO gear.
Or simply your entire team stops fighting and sits in the MCC while playing a different game or something on your mobile, just make sure you have enough WP at the start of the match and keep twitching around so you dont get kicked. |

Put links at one edge of the match. Then circle around to the opposite edge and place more. Use crappy basic and militia so they cancel the original ones. Keep the blues so spread out they spend the entire match chasing 3 or 4 kills a piece. Very low wp. Every match. Every mode. |

Don't get me wrong, play how you want to play, go ahead and tell mom how you just "le epic tr0lled" a protostomper, but find time to actually improve. With enough practice everyone becomes competitive, then more people participate and actually enjoy the match.
The best way to frusterate a stomper? Kill him over and over. Bonus points if he had the racial advantage over you. |

I can't tell you how many proto 5v1 i have run into, and dropped 2 or sometimes even 3 before I go down. When you start pulling stuff like that, you will find a thrill in this game like you couldn't imagine.
I fight with against some if the toughest in the game now....voluntarilt.

And, while we're on the topic of protostomping, can someone give me a solid definition of a "protostomp"?
Because I fit prototype gear, but I don't require my squads to. Does that mean we aren't protostomping because we aren't all in proto?
I run fittings that are just adv, but with a proto weapon. Does that mean I'm not protostomping because it's not 100% proto?
Sometimes I have an early game proto fitting that is fitted for hack and walk/sprint speed, but after I hack things I switch to advanced. Am I protostomping because I ever fielded a proto fitting in the first place?
Or is protostomping just a blanket term used when someone kills you and you need to blame it on their gear to make yourself feel better about being a bad?

It's not hostility imo. It's just a game, you don't really die, nothing important really happens in your life either if you lose or win a match. People should just push that objective and try to have fun.

CCP could have fixed this at any time by updating the new player academy.
They could update matchmaking.
They could create PvE content to help players find their legs before engaging in PvP.
They could make proto gear more expensive and standard gear cheaper.
They could implement one of the many tiericide suggestions the community has put forth to correct the huge power imbalance proto gear provides.
But they don't.
We fit proto, and murder the everliving fuckall out of everyone because if we didn't CCP would think everything is fine. It's not.
So sure, get pissed off at players using a perfectly valid, legal, and readily available game mechanic. Don't fit proto yourself, no, that would make far too much sense

Started using a new min assault fit for these type of situations: adv min assault suit, f45 re, exo md, c7 flux, and ishukone nk with a kin cat and 2 complex dampeners. Still testing out the shield side but other than that it's pretty good in certain maps.

By the way: I die a lot to start with cause of my overly aggresive nature (run in solo on a letter held by squad ) so when I hit proto stomps I pull out my nomad apex and fight like hell.

Currently the only thing im seeing is players using Minmatar Assault and abusing the lack of hit detection with constant speed strafing where my shots dont register and then the auto aiming headshot machine known as the bolt pistol.
If they are relying on FOTM to be 'good' then what is the point? You are not going to improve if you spam FOTM everytime but then again to these players spamming FOTM is what makes them think they are good in the first place so im not suprised that other players have to FOTM to keep up. |

Better yet get in a Nomad Assualt or Dragon Scout VK.1 and use the REs to blow both you and the proto guy up in the same go.

because that is fair to the other 10 people on enemy team.
16 people stop playing because of 6 that they blame.
There are other people in the match other than the 6 proto stompers you are running from.

The best way to frusterate a stomper? Kill him over and over. Bonus points if he had the racial advantage over you.

This is actually what frustrates me the most out of new dust players. So many seem like they would rather give up than fight a good fight.
Please. Almost every player in this game has been through a "Getting Stomped" phase at least once. The ones who fought through it and got better were only in it for awhile.
People who keep leaving and complaining will be stuck in it forever. Your skill as a player will stay constant, as everyone else around you improves.
THIS is why PC is having trouble getting decent NEW players. Nobody wants to learn how to fight. They all want to stomp freaking ambush 24/7.

I remember back when our corps had to tax ourselves and donate just to be able to run PCs! And we almost never made a profit! And we had to put up with Tankers who ate ISK for breakfast, lunch and Dinner!

I mean you can, all these kids and weird adults, but rest of them :
1. Have isk, so they don't care
2. They don't care about anything that you would find frustrating.

You can have a competitive merc in 10M SP if you spend smart. Yes it's hard as a bad player, but it's not the new players that need to get good. It's the ones that have been around for months or even years yet refuse to play the ******* objective.
