I'm going to begin with a question. Would the ScR be balanced if its damage was cut to 50 and its RoF cut to 427? No. It would be horrendously UP at a mere 355 DPS. Even the most diehard anti-ScR guys can see that.
Well that is akin to what they did to the ScP. The cut its Damage by 29%, AND its RoF by 27%. That a multiplicative 49% Nerf to damage output. It is half as good as it used to be, quite literally.
Why did they Nerf it by such extreme numbers? Because the horrendously UP Ion Pistol was being added to the game, and the ScP couldn't be better than it, so instead of adding a useful weapon like sane people, they just made 2 useless ones...
So, I'm going to request, once again, that the ScP be buffed back to its previous levels, and the Ion Pistol to be buffed to sign ilar levels as well.
For those that can't remember:
ScP was 80/84/88 Damage 450 RoF 6 round magazine. (I'd actually say this should just be a 10 round magazine, and have the operations skill be retooled to be not so insanely powerful/needed)
The Ion Pistol should be 75/78.85/82.5 Damage 500 RoF 16 round magazine.

Pleeeeaaaase!!!!!!! The pistols are just sad in this game... The only sidearms worth using are the bolt,SMG,and flaylock.

Magsec need a buff as well. Its spool up time and armor profile make it a confused weapon. Do you use it as a backup/finisher or as an engagement starter? Wat do?

The MagSec is horrible because it has a spool time, I can't count how many times I needed to kill a guy just to have that spool delay my DPs and get me killed.

How do you feel about 12 rounds at 75 damage? That would give it more than the ScP by 100 DpM, without breaching 1000 damage per mag, which is something I don't think semiauto pistols should do, because then they become a bit spammy and start to alienate the semiauto rifles, which should be a bit better at laying down extended fire.

True. But the pistols both have considerable head shot bonuses and the ability to get headshots better than SMGs. This is a factor that needs to be taken into account.
I think if you factor the headshots in, the amount of damage applied in a mag would be roughly similar to the SMGs.
They have the ability to alpha. Something SMGs don't. Just like the ScR and TacAR, their DpMs should be lower than their automatic counterparts.
I don't want the pistols to outclass the SMG, I just want them to be competitive with it again.
And the old ScP was very much doable to stand on its own. If we bring its back to that level, it will stand again. No need to go further than that.

It isn't much worse than the SMG. But it is worse. And they are similar enough weapons that the role of the Magsec is just overshadowed.
Personally, I think cutting its spooling time in half and either reducing its kick or giving it a holosight would be enough to bring it up to the level of the SMG.

Although this seems worse to me than what I proposed. The amount of over sampling you will experience at 500 would be miniscule already. I feel like this would be outclassed by the ScP, as the ScP would be doing consistently more DPS.
Alternatively... We could make this kind of Ion Pistol the Tactical variant, and add a real Assault Pistol! Full auto pistol for the Gallente? Sounds fitting. Ive always wanted to do the same thing to the Assault Scrambler Pistol and make it an autopistol.

God forbid a pistol be able to kill people reasonably effectively. Breach ScP and Bolt Pistol headshots do about as much damage as that charged shot... and at a longer range... at a faster rate. That much damage coming from a Pistol isn't even unheard of...

All they need to do to the ScR is make it steadily build heat while holding the charge! That's it!
You can't hold down the charge waiting for the perfect shot forever, and the longer you hold it, the sooner you overheat! Gun balanced!
Who cares what some sniper has to say.
CCP, let's push for the license of Dust/Legion on both current Gen consoles!
