Ambush seems to be becoming more and more unplayable on account of stomp frequency.
Please reduce Ambush Squad Size to 4. Please set Ambush Vehicle Quota to 0.
Thank you!

Kindly consider the following changes: * Reduce Ambush Squad Size to 4 * Set Ambush Vehicle Quota to 0
While these changes may not outright cure stomps, they would do much toward slowing the bleed.
Separate Ambush and Ambush OMS.
I agree to make regular ambush 4 squad cap and no vehicles. Leave OMS the way it is.

Honestly I see stomps, even when its not full of squads.
From my experience, typically it's one team happens to be spawned in an advantageous position, they blob together, and eat everything in sight. I see this behavior even in non-squadded and non-vehicle matches, so while a reduction in squad size might help a little, think it won't do much to fix a fundamentally flawed game mode.

In theory I'm a big fan of both of those changes; my self-interest precludes me from agreeing out of hand with the removal of vehicles (so sue me! :P), though in theory I can see the value. (although I myself have no issues with vehicles in Ambush, whether I'm running them or not; either my tank or my forge deals with them pretty consistently, and blasters aren't effective enough to concern me anymore).
As for squad sizes, again, in theory I like the idea. But the whole draw of this game is the social activity; god knows the FPS experience isn't good enough to justify my playing it instead of a more polished shooter. Cutting down on squad size restricts the social aspect of the game by a pretty significant amount; I mean, I often find myself wishing we could have squads of seven, just so I could fit in that one extra person.
I would like it if we tried other methods first before employing these, although, as I said, I do see the logic in the proposals.
Guys, we need to stop calling MU a 'matchmaker' when it's actually a 'teambuilder'.
And I want to play FE:A now. Damn.

If you don't want to be stomped, don't play bush. Skirmish is much easier to survive in even when there are stacked teams, when I see a stacked team against me I just make it my mission to ruin the game for them.

The stomps happen because one side pulls more proto from the start, and after the first bloody noses, the opponents switch back to lower tier gear.
The only thing that can stop that, is tiered match making.
Pubs should be either basic or advanced. proto should be reserved for Factional PC and corp matches (which need reintroduction).
everything else is not going to work.
For example, If you go with sp, there are 50mil+ SP players like me who prefer to run basic/advanced fits in pubs to keep income high. If you put these players in matches with 50mil+ players who run proto all the time, you will have imbalances...
No matchmaking can compensate for that. ONLY tiered matchmaking will solve that problem.
And while your at it Rattati, please make a gamemode for sub 10mil players with Basic gear only... Just to give the newbs a chance to get hooked to dust before they get destroyed by the lolvets... |

There's no way to tell if people are squadded. Just because you don't see 6 people from the same corp doesn't mean they're not a squad.
Squads are what causes stomps. In AE's glory days we did "basic-gear stomps" once in a while to prove proto gear wasn't the root problem.

However this is a game that's best played in squads, besides there's nothing stopping the other team from using squads too.
If corp battles are reintroduced then i'll be happier with removing squads from bush or making them smaller, but atm it would just ruin the game mode for me and many other people, not because I stomp but because it's imho the funnest game mode in the game at the moment. Corp battles would change that.

Regarding squads, simply joining a squad (in my experience) does appear to improve my performance, even if no one uses a mic (and even if the squad leader doesn't use the command wheel). However, squad effectiveness is still dependent on how well the squad communicates and cooperates.
Squad w/o mics < Squad w/ lead mic only < Squad w/ casual majority (of members using) mics < Squad w/ all casual mics < Squad w/ serious majority mics < Squad w/ serious full mics.
Jack-of-most-trades, master of one.
