As a Caldari Assault with 630 shields 280, how in gods name do you counter an Amarr Assault without him plowing through you like butter? Assume that we are equally skilled.
Each one of his ScR shots do well over 100 damage to shields. If he hides behind a corner for a second and charges his ScR he can do up to 400 shields worth of damage + 8 follow up shots.
My rail rifle, all it can do is kick like a muel.
P.S., you can't range him because lol, he has more range than you.
Is there any viable counter other than- switch to another suit-lol get gud- ect.

it's ok, you still have 8 followup shots to do over 800 damage to shields.

Yeah I don't think so... I can never get those guys head on, I have to surprise them... Even when I surprise them that 600-800 armor they have is pretty hard to get through before they turn around and instakill you... I'm not even talking about proto I'm talking about std... Never see one with less than 500 armor, unless its mlt. |

The most honest answer I can give you is run the opposite way of his location... I've played as a purely shield tanked Caldari and Minmatar and you can really do is either get the drop or run away

The Amarr Assault and it's bonus+the ScR is one of the deadliest combos in New Eden, Oh how I wish my Caldari Assault had a good bonus.

Since the ScR is the counter to shield suits, maybe your should try the counter to the amarr assault which is an armor suit with armor weapon.

You appear to be quite dense.
Shields > Armor, at range.
Shields < Armor, CQC.
However against a ScR on Amarr Assault, unless you are at the top end of the RRs range, you will almost always lose in a racially fit Caldari Assault. Although its stupidly annoying, I tend to just avoid the Amarr suits if possible, and jump them when they're not looking.
And I use both, both suits at proto with Prof V in ScR and RR. From the Amarrs point of view its hilarious how fast shield suits die. Ive run into a Assault ck.0 that died just as fast as a Caldari Frontline suit to my Assault ck.0.

I find a super regenerating caldari assault can brawl with an scr user. Even if hit the shields come back so fast that the scr user ends up overheating and letting me blap him.
I mean: 3shield ext, 2 recharg/energiz, 3 regulators

Try changing your fit.
My CalAss runs 522 shield, but comes back at 90/s with a 1.6 second delay.

I thought that too, but I've found the 30hp/s is enough for most stuff. Armor users run around with less than that all the time. And, I've found it works great for me.

RR have better range the SCR (barely), just a more difficult ability to place shots at range due to hellish recoil VS literally no recoil, and the amount of range "greater" is very small.
Honestly the only way I've been able to take out people in the situation described is by using cover a lot and regening faster then him, and praying that he doesn't wise up and close the distance.
Considering the strengths of the CalAss in other situations though I'm more then satisfied with the suit, and consider the extreme difficulty against AmAss just my price to pay for such a finesse suit that murders heavies and commandos at range, and overall a nice regen platform.
It's a bit of a niche suit, but I like the niche.

Y'know what's silly about this whole scenario..... you only have 80 ehP less than me. That less and a second's worth of TTK on my Heavy Infantry fit.
If you are equally skilled in this scenario there is no issue. You got your ass beat a skilled or unskilled player.

My best suggestion anyways would be that you make the 1v1 last as much as required for your relatively high arse TTK weapon (ARR/RR) by jumping from a cover to another and stuff, but that takes you to be very good and him to not be above average skill level. |
