I haven't played DUST in like 5 - 8 months, but coming back and hoping that my Laser Rifle is useable (meaning in terms of actually able to kill with it) i've manage to get a killstreak frenzy with it on Domination with K/D of 21 / 3 & i was like:
"Could it be? Is the Laser Rifle holy once again?" 
If you think i'm saying it's "overpowered" then no it isn't, it's balanced out to not get to that level, but, i'm happy to see this gun actually useable now.

Use the militia laser, trust me it i better than proto in my opinion. don't ask why just do it and you'll figure it out. use dog mods aswell.

"Usable" not "Useful" Plus they're useful for Long Range Combat that why i use it on my Commando & the Assault ScR for CQC. |

It'll guarantee that you get sniped or targeted by RR users.
If as scout catches up to you (which one will), pray that your sidearm is as good as a lite weapon.

When i use my LR in high advantage points on certain maps I know i'm going to be #1 target, i've encountered Scouts with Cloak Fields & Shotguns, they're easy to take down because i use headphones and the cloak field makes a certain eerie noise so if they think they're undetected, well, i'll be pulling out my AScR to be ready when they appear uncloaked.
RR users the ones i've encountered just run at me, not even using it's weapons effectiveness at range, if they had a ARR they could take me down at any range & the RoF would be good in CQC but the regular RR variants just aren't CQC worthy.
I've encountered Snipers but they just seem to not care in killing me, for example i was spawned on top a fuel tanker (looking structure) that had a Pipe going up & this vantage point overlooked Objective A on Domination, i was in the open shooting heavies, Logies etc.
While i was giving suppressive fire my whole team decided to charge at Objective A & i decided to stay to give covering fire and reduce enemy numbers as possible 5 minutes later a sniper tried to gun me down so i took cover by the pipe which blocked the LoS of the sniper & this cover point on top of the structure didn't block my LoS on Objective A.
Since i gave the suit a Armour Repper boost my Armour repaired itself in seconds & after that point the Sniper wasn't heard from again not in the whole game, i was in aware mode because i thought the sniper was going to relocate to try and kill me but no sign of him, i did get flanked at times on top of the structure but they were being stupid instead of being silent in trying to kill me.
Plus, i don't stay in one spot for long, i always relocate myself in good areas where i can visibly see the Objective (Domination wise) |

You seem to forget when that the post God Mode of the LR in Chromosome, they nerfed the living s**** out of the LR. Not only was it's DPS horrible (due to the changes in the effective ranges), but you literally could not aim with it. It took months before they added the same sight for it as the SCR.
Only recently has the LR been usable again.
It's still only a support weapon...slayers can not wield the LR, but that's how it should be. Right now, the LR is perfectly balanced. |

WRONG. DMG isn't calulated by heat. So even if you feather the trigger at 99% it wont matter because you've been holding the trigger for a frction of a second. Its LITTERALLY how long you hold the trigger, not th heat built up. With Amarr Assault you can HOLD the trigger for WAY longer, allowing upwards of 3000 DPS. Trust me, your FAR better off using it on te Amarr Assault.

Many people (Including myself) have tested this every patch. Its about the time youve held the trigger, not heat and amarr assault allows you to hold the trigger for much much longer

No because the extra 20 rounds do insane dps .. it kills better on assault
And I'm not an expert in amar weaponry I'm an expert in laser rifle usage the scr is the gun of the foot soldiers I'm an officer I use guns that require more finesse

I did some tests, the LR does more Damage depending on how hot the Rifle is dispersing.
But hey if you want to correct me i rather have DEV correct me... |

It's continuous fire not heat, you notice the difference when right at the edge of the overheat you can waft the beam over someone for a near instakill
