Apparently they hit really really hard.
Also no we haven't 'fixing' sniping as its not consider broken anymore and likely we're never going back to older models ever most likely.

You don't think that they might need to do something about the marker indicator and help it to stand out when and while targeting ? Too many times it get's lost in backgrounds and yes I understand the purpose of the red highlights around the scope while targeting but too many times that dot gets lost from blending in . It needs to be more distinctive and defined , it would help in lining up targets better . Just asking IWS .
That's not sniping that movement control and hit detection systems which are mind you woefully behind the times.

Couldn't adding a bit better zoom make sniping a little more viable without changing the model any? I think it is better than it was in many ways, but its still rather difficult to be of much use.
Zoom can get looked at and I agree its not high enough fidelity to make it work well for the ranges its expected to operate in. Maybe 2x of current I am thinking
Sway should also get looked at to be post shot rather than preshot.
Charge rifle mechanics is another that can get looked at; its been suggested to have them auto-charging (thus no need to hold trigger) if this becomes a thing then the sway should be matching with the charging cycle so that the rifle is swaying while charging.
Also the complaint about lack of progression is still very valid so that can also get looked at.

Tracking is more of a technical issue than a game play one.
I for one would not mind it as it will tell other players of a wounded prey to go finish off.
Maybe have an 'explosive tracking' variant that tags nearby people of the impact area.
But like I said technical exploration would likely must be done first in order to check feasibility.
In response to the thale's zoom being too powerful leading to its nerf the reason for that was essentially the other rifles where not at the same zoom as the thale's under the old range model. This in hindsight was a mistake to suggest moving thale's zoom to other rifles while reducing range. The proper answer should be bringing the other rifles zoom up to the thale's level while reducing the range.

For snipers who are okay with shoot and move tactics, within the battle field.
It's the only thing I can see being useful in this small maps, without being pure 'camp the redzone, behind a cliff.'
Sounds like a precision rifle the Minmatar would use.

Tracking Time should be about equal to half of the average role time to full HP

Well the thing is we brought in the sniper to be more suitable for the current fields of play presented; however the terms of how small hostile targets are at the expected ranges to be shot at in comparison to other games; ours is a bit too low for it to be useful for the more precise shooting demanded by new sniper rifle slants in body to headshot damages. Bringing the zoom up would also lower the difficulty of some players trying to aim with it at longer distances. The charge and standard would be affected the tactical however seems very spot on for the kind of shooting it does and I am afraid to see it go up or down as it may hurt its current effectiveness.

Hit detection is a separate issue that for the sake of balancing I am going to ignore or well end up doing the shotgun dance of yore.

Variable zoom may not be possible but it is desired.
Anyways is there any balance concerns over the current rodens vs the other rifles? I am pretty sure the 1 shot per mag deal is going to stay for it.
